More importantly why would Cleary go there? If he doesn't win a premiership in his first 2 years you can guarantee he won't be there for his 4th year.
$1m a year with full payout no fault termination clause ?

BA head of Football and find a new coach. Sorted!https://www.smh.com.au/sport/nrl/panthers-coaching-conundrum-could-prove-taxing-20180807-p4zw2m.html
Sydney clubs in supremo battle
Parramatta is on the lookout for a head of football to help them out of the doldrums, and Manly could soon follow suit.
The Eels are currently reviewing their football department and one of the aims is to find someone to oversee it, akin to Phil Gould's role at Penrith. As it stands, Parramatta CEO Bernie Gurr doubles as the head of football, but the newly created role will allow Gurr to oversee the running of the business, while the footy boss will allow Brad Arthur to focus on coaching the side.
Manly is also without a footy boss after Bob Fulton retired. The Silvertails are in the process of bolstering their back-office staff with a series of appointments that include a recruiter/list manager, a pathways coach and a welfare and education officer.
However, serious consideration is being given to appointing an NRL director of football to assist Trent Barrett and oversee all aspects of the footy program. With few high-calibre candidates that fit the bill, the arch-rivals could be in a battle to get in first.

A coach can become stale with the playing group and it’s possible a change could be beneficial for all involved.Untenable. If BA survives the review, then next year he'll have a head of footy. If the board are dissatisfied with his results in 2019 then they get a new coach in 2020.
Last night on 2GB they were saying that if the coach merry-go-round happened (Cleary-Penrith, Bennett-Souths, Seibold-Broncos etc) that BA would get snapped up by Tigers or Manly. So as much as many here think that BA is a dud, there are other teams that apparently would like to have him. Sometimes it's hard to see the woods through the trees I guess.
Utoikamanu is either going to be a superstar or the next TanginoaLooking at all three grades Parra are positioning Jersey Flegg forwards (or younger) to be promoted up the ladder with a few moving into NRL next year. Kaufusi, Dresler and Faingaa look the 3 most likely (another is Stefano ??? but still eligible for Ball). Maybe Pou or another that follow the lower grades can fill us in with who they consider will make top 30 next year?

Still confused why Lane has not been announced. That is true, but is that the players fault or the coach? Have some of our players peaked?
Anyhow BA is trying to “refresh” our side, 3 rookies playing this week, 2 very good top 17 players already signed, several squad positions still available for next year and quite a few 18/19/20 playing NSW cup!
It’s not like the players we have told can leave or are off contract are getting a lot of offers. So maybe be it’s not BA.

I'm sure he will be.no he wasn't
I'm guessing Stone and Kaufusi to be top 30 next year. Maybe Faingaa, though he is more likely to score a development spot. Tupou and Dresler both graduate but I would think they'd score a development contract at best. Utoikamanu is interesting. Playing front row in reserve grade at 18 is a huge achievement. He could be in the dev squad next year as well, but with his rapid rise who knows what he could be doing next year?Looking at all three grades Parra are positioning Jersey Flegg forwards (or younger) to be promoted up the ladder with a few moving into NRL next year. I blame Mennings for rushing up and not tackling Blake. Ruined our season it didI think our biggest issue right now is confidence - we are competing in every game we play, but we can't close games out.
As to why we have been so shit since the second half in round 1, well...I doubt anyone knows...
Less specifically our "D" has been gash all year. To be honest its not been good for years. Fix that and we are on our way.I blame Mennings for rushing up and not tackling Blake. Ruined our season it did
I reckon our attack has been pretty awful too tbh....Less specifically our "D" has been gash all year. To be honest its not been good for years. Fix that and we are on our way.

2GB the doyens of RL.Geez mate there’s a lot of ‘ifs’ there. Surprised that 2GB would know where everyone’s going, but don’t know where BA would end up. FFS.
I'm sure he will be.
and BA nuthuggers like Gronk post all these ifs and rumours as fact as long as it's what they want to believeGeez mate there’s a lot of ‘ifs’ there. Surprised that 2GB would know where everyone’s going, but don’t know where BA would end up. FFS.
