Sick of the Taka hate. He is a first grade player. Played for NZ in 2017. Like many had a poor 2018.
What has Salmon done to prove he is a gun centre? Could be, but also could be a flop. He has never played centre so I would rather he have 3 or 4 games at Wenty and learn there.

I tend to agree.

But Taka's laziness, and generally poor defensive play, can get irritating.

But he's a very good attacking player, and good enough for a top 17 spot, imo.

Yes agree. But who is Salmon? A kid who never played centre. And sure he maybe great but first he most prove it.
I'd probably have ore confidence in Ethan Parry or Hoffman in centres then Salmon at moment. I'd just think he needs a few games at Wenty level to learn the position.

The club has had the entire off season to compare players, and based on the little I’ve seen, I would be surprised if Salmon wasn’t a better defensive centre than Takairangi.

I think Pous confusing me with other posters who can only analyse in black and white. We were undersized last year by design, planning to outrun teams, that plan didn’t work (clearly) under the circumstances. I reckon the plan is still to outrun opponents, just with a increase in size for a safety net.

I don’t get the Taka love, he has the lateral movement of Owen Craigie now.

Is as dumb as a bag of rocks and is lazy, the odd good run or fancy play can’t make up for that. A bloke like Taka wouldn’t last 5 mins at a club like Melbourne.
