So no thenHe might, if he gets in to some of the shit Mark O'Neill has been smoking!!

How did the Raiders (an entity in another constituency) get $4 million out of NSW Government then?
Huh?
So because Newcastle were preparing to offer 300K+ a year for him a few months ago, we have to match that?? But it's OK for the Warriors to keep him on the books for 150K if he attracts no other offers??
Are you seriously suggesting our offer to him has been dictated by what the Knights offered?? Who told you this?? And if that is true, then we're even more stupid for bending over and making such allowances...
I think Luke is another Whatmong. I also think we are going to cop quite a few beatings this year. I'd rather go with our current crop then be more patient and astute with our purchases when other options come on to the market. He might, if he gets in to some of the shit Mark O'Neill has been smoking!!
Thanks for the link....NRL: Knights coach Nathan Brown is keen to sign Issac Luke despite the Kiwi Test hooker facing shoulder surgery next week
https://www.theherald.com.au/story/...-despite-the-kiwi-test-hooker-facing-surgery/
His confidence? A few weeks ago he wasn't even on an NRL contract. He's not yet 21. He should be happy to share the hooking role with a 250 game veteran for a couple of years. It's not like he'd be playing first grade anywhere else.I'd rather go for a stellar fullback, preferably one who can kick goals as well, and move Gutho back to the centres. It can't be helping Mahoney's confidence when the club is shopping his spot around a few weeks before the season opener.
$300k+ is his value. If he signed for cheaper with the Warriors it was because he was already in NZ with his family (kids at school and shit), they already had a couple of dummy half options, and he was injured.Huh?

The leaks still keep on coming out of Parra, eh? I thought they sorted that. If I were Mahoney, I'd be devastated to hear about how the club is looking elsewhere at this time of year for another hooker. My loyalty and commitment would be instantly compromised.
Hey mate, im merely speculating here, but perhaps there’s a threshold within the get-out clause requiring offers to be of a certain amount. If I’m the Warriors I would want some certainty that Luke doesn’t have the ability to leave if another club are offering the same or similar money. Thanks for the link....
But it sheds Zero light on what I was asking in response to your other post. All it illustrates is that the Knights were interested but decided not to pursue.
It doesn't suggest that the offer the Knights were considering putting forward will have to be matched by any other club thereafter if they are considering signing him. Nor does it suggest that the Knights have established his value at 300-350K a year.
I'm still none the wiser as to why we are offering him a 200K pay increase (550K when you consider no deal for 2020) for 2019 and you think its good/reasonable business.
Yeah righto...$300k+ is his value. If he signed for cheaper with the Warriors it was because he was already in NZ with his family (kids at school and shit), they already had a couple of dummy half options, and he was injured.
It's also worth noting that none of the figures reported are necessarily true, though they seem plausible to me. If he's recovered well from surgery then he's worth more than when he was injured with surgery pending.

He should be saying "I'm more than good enough and why are you idiots looking at a 31 yo half broken Kiwi over me?".His confidence? A few weeks ago he wasn't even on an NRL contract. He's not yet 21. For what it's worth, I suspect we'd have to pay more than he's worth to get him. But bringing him in for slight overs is a better use of our cap than not signing anyone for 2019. We'll win more games with him than without him.Perhaps.
That's a plausible explanation and something more realistic than the "it's a great deal deathriders, just STFU and accept the fact we've made another masterstroke signing" some people would present to us...
How many games you reckon? For what it's worth, I suspect we'd have to pay more than he's worth to get him. But bringing him in for slight overs is a better use of our cap than not signing anyone for 2019. We'll win more games with him than without him.
But he's not more than good enough. This is only his first season ineligible for Flegg, and he has won four NRL games in his life. He has got hundreds of shit decisions in front of him before he could be called a first grader. He should be saying "I'm more than good enough and why are you idiots looking at a 31 yo half broken Kiwi over me?".
An extra 25% I reckon. How many games you reckon?
That's all well and good. I don't see us making the 8, so why throw your granny's poker machine money away on a beat up 'has been'? It's about time we started thinking a whole lot smarter if we want to go places in the NRL.But he's not more than good enough. This is only his first season ineligible for Flegg, and he has won four NRL games in his life. He has got hundreds of shit decisions in front of him before he could be called a first grader.
Perhaps.

It will be very exciting!!An extra 25% I reckon.
