To me, the main issue is that some clubs and players seem to have mechanisms for forcing a 'renegotiation' when the other party has no desire or legal requirement to do so.

So while contracts are obviously worth plenty, and carry legal weight, Soto is correct in that the contract doesn't necessarily dictate what will happen for the duration covered in that contract.

Of course it doesn't. My objection was to the assertion that contracts don't mean jack.

It depends very much on the quality of the paper being used. If it's very high gsm, it gets tricky. Also if you write the contract on parchment (particularly if you did so in 1215) medium can be quite valuable.

Funny you should say that. I was in Edinburgh for some time recently, and there's a shop called 'Chisholm Hunter'. I though it was a club for cougars or something, but apparently its just a jewellers.
