Fafita getting $1m would mean that he's on double what Ryan Matterson is getting. That's poor cap management from our POV, plus paying a non spine player your top coin is dumb (unless his name is Toumololollolo).

He is the next Taumalomo and even better at the same age if you can remember how Taumalomo was back then. Not the player he is today by a long shot. Just raw with no direction or stamina and couldn't defend to save his life, therefore constantly dropped by the coach until he started to correct his shortcomings at around 21-22 years of age.

Brisbane are ripe for the picking at the moment. Doubt their Brisbane $$$ would keep them there with the way they are playing at moment. There is something happening more than just a poor coach who has NFI.

The player I'd go after is Tevita Pangai and he would add more to our team than Fifita. Hopefully BA could get his aggression under control (just like he has with Nrown) and put him in the front row - and he would be cheaper. He can also play back row as well. His intimidating presence plus offloads would add more to our roster.
Given all the players they've let go I'd say the Broncos are about to throw some cash around.

Also while I'm at it, I would give BA this year and next to bring home the bacon. If he can't do it by then, I would go so hard for Trent Robinson if isn't funny. He is the only real point of difference between our two clubs at the moment. A coach like him delivers players like Tedesco and now potentially Fifita if he were ever to make the move when the money is roughly on par other offers. Also lets not forget sponsorships too.
Doubt we could get Trent (yes I'm on first name basis), the Roosters offer something Parra never could, life style. Politis probably has a rent free, or peppercorn rent, house overlooking some eastern suburbs beach as part of the deal. But Bellamy could be, once Cam Smith leaves them to go to Roosters next year, he might want to leave bleak city and come to Sydney.

I'd say the Roosters are offering a lot more than just the coach to entice players. They signed Jennings, Maloney and SBW before Robinson had coached a single game in the NRL. Don't forget Ricky Stuart had a great squad there too, and won a premiership.

Don't forget Brian Smith helped build that roster and Phil Gould built it for Sticky before he dismantled it and they punted him for it.

Uncle Nick is a great draw card for sure, but if the coach isn't as good as other coaches, players talk and then they walk. Since Robinson has been there, they have hardly had a misstep, even accounting for that flighty airhead Mitchell. Look at what they did to Pearce, even though he had delivered them a title, when Cooper was available, did they hesitate? No and the rest is history.

Fortune favours the bold. We can all just be pissed and bitter at the Rosters for snatching all the best player, or we can try to join them and be the leaders at it. No point in bitching. We have the means now, I just hope we have the will.

If take Fifita any day over Pangai Jr. He may not be a renowned defender but he’s worlds better than TPJ. Also he’s not a complete thug.

We all know how hard you can go Ram. It would be a certain sweetener to get the deal done.

I think our edge is good enough tbh. I'd like better options off bench in the middle and perhaps someone with some spark at 14.
Kafusi could be one option but we could upgrade on Terepo, Evans and Stone.
I'd rather snag 3 x 450k players for bench then Fifita + Terepo and Stone in bench

I think this 17 is good enough to win a comp or two. We just lack composure at certain times and force the pass when we shouldn't.
Whether we fix this through experience or game management training is the key here.

We were always going to fatigue in that last 20 for the amount of defense we endured because of errors. It's a fine balance between risk & completing sets and the roosters do it best.

I reckon we have a significant drop of when Jnr and RCG and Brown are off.
Can barely compete.

But was it those shortcomings that made Taumololololololo the player he is now? If Fafita is lacking those shortcomings will he progress along the same route?
Adversity fosters evolution.

Although Boncos do have a lot of adversities

If you're working in Parramatta you can live anywhere you want in Sydney.

Most teams have drop off when their big boys come off. Our bench isn't the best but it's in the top 6 of all clubs imo. I noticed Lane moving into the middle for a period which made a noticeable difference.

Moving forward I can't see us retaining Evans. At times he's been good but inconsistent. Nikore is a winner. Peni take or leave. Stone I don't mind. Alvoro isn't suited to the quicker game imo.

Hopefully ba can somehow squeeze either Sam Hughes or Hollis in for some game time - not sure if they qualify atm. They are the future.

Right, so you don't need the best coach to attract quality players, just one that's good enough, including a rookie like Stuart or Robinson.

I really dont think we fatigued at all (except maybe Matto). When Sivo scored we were all over them like a cheap suit. Good play by Chooks and one bad defensive read between Rheed and Moses then bad luck and silly plays followed.
. Short kick off was dumb particularly to Toupus wing.
. Browns swinging arm. Unlucky.
. Mennings laziness with being offside.
. Waqas laziness.
. Rheed trying to block the kick through and accidentally touching the ball while Gutho is in perfect position.
. Refs interpretation somewhat mystifying at times.
Bad luck, laziness, inexperience, refereeing and lack of patience.
Its been said that it was a "great" loss. I tend to agree.
I honestly reckon we can get em next time.

Personally, I feel we need a other big front rower.

We missed Evans massively against the Roosters.

I feel we need another big body, to play in tight, so that of we are missing Evans, RCG, or Paulo, we are not too worse off.

Fifita is a gun, but I don't think I'd swap him for Lane, or Matterson.

I agree.

Learn the professionalism, and patience, that the Roosters showed, and we are tough to beat.
