I think the moderation standard is about protecting the site from legal action. I'm sure if we started expressing hate toward Christians or homosexuals our posts would be likewise deleted.

Sounds like you looked down on him too. That's the downside of having people with different value systems living side by side. The upside is all the great food.

When I was a kid I had a mate from a culture that thought divorce was wrong. His family wouldn't let him hang out with me because my parents were divorced. They looked down on me, and when I was old enough I looked down on them too. Which one of us was right or wrong? We were just coming from different value systems.
