No-one's twisting your words. In the above chain of four posts, two people have replied to you... with civility. But as they say, if you can't stand the heat in the kitchen then maybe it's time to take a break from cooking?
Civility doesn't mean you're not being a smartarse. You're not fooling anyone.

Do you think the Panthers, Storm, Roosters, Sharks and Cowboys and Rabbitohs (i.e the other finals sides from last season) will be losing any of the halves that they want to keep?
What's that got to do with anything? The Sharks and Cowboys just finished a major rebuild, so I wouldn't expect them to lose anyone so soon. The rest of them are very strong clubs with obvious 'salary cap advantages' unavailable to the rest.

What does having “salary cap advantages” have to do with the strong clubs retaining their halves under the same salary cap everyone else is spending to? I thought Munster took a massive paycut to stay at the Storm instead of going to the Dolphins? Why shouldn’t we able to perform miraculous feats like that if they can?

My point is it's not the same salary cap pressure, for those clubs. Somehow they can consistently fit more talent under the cap than the rest, year after year. I suspect TPAs have something to do with it.

Why would you think we (or any other club) would suddenly become as 'well run' as the Storm? Where is your evidence that any other club can do the same thing?

I thought clubs weren’t allowed to arrange TPAs? I can understand clubs with more resources having the ability to scout out and sign the best juniors (like the Storm, Roosters and Panthers have evidently been able to do). I don’t see what that has to do with established key players at those clubs taking pay cuts to stay at those respective teams. What’s stopping us from doing the same thing? If we aren’t able to do the same then obviously we’re not playing the game smart enough off the field are we?

I think there's too many people willing to bury the club in order to make our management look bad for us to get away with it. But maybe things are (slowly) changing since the constitution change? I certainly hope so. We did just make the grand final, and we still have a pretty good team next year. I'm more dirty on our lack of investment in junior recruitment/retention. Losing top 17 players after a period of (relative) success is a fact of life for every club. The import thing is replacing them and staying competitive.

If other strong clubs are capable of prioritising and keeping the players they want to keep then we need to look at what we’re doing wrong if we can’t do the same. As I pointed out we’re currently the only top 8 club from last season in danger of losing one of our halves (after letting go of our elite backrower and hooker).

There’s nothing circular about it. I’ve established it’s hypothetical and that I think there’s no chance he will go to Canterbury for unders. From there any attempts to twist my words are just bullshit from a dickhead trying to play games yet again.
Never change Pou. Ever. I love you mate. 😂

One grand final appearance/3 wooden spoons in 13 years and 36 years since our last premiership for such a big club is overachieving now?

I think it's pretty evident that we had no business even being in the same postcode as Penrith on Grand Final day, and yet we were the ones to make it - we overachieved.

As soon as the club restructures its junior pathways (which takes time, and resources), we will begin to see the fruits of that labour.

We haven't had a genuinely consistent season since 2017 imo, where our defence was consistently strong - yet, we always finish somewhere in the top 6.

I agree with Pou - we've punched well above our weight.

Clubs can introduce prospective TPA's interest to a players manager for them to negotiate on behalf of their client. The club can't guarantee the TPA.
I think TPA's can't influence a player to play with a certain club!🤣

We deserved to be there on grand final night because we were the second best team this season at our best. I don’t think we overachieved at all. Who do you think should have been there instead?

I don't agree.

Cowboys won 17, we won 16; their for and against was +272, ours was +119.

We defeated them with some huge stroke of luck.

Regardless - aside from our performance against the Raiders, we were exposed inthe Finals, imo - which shows me we overachieved.

I think the reason for that is that the difference between our best and worst was huge whereas the Cowboys played great (and around the same level) for most of the season. If anything I’d say they overachieved. I’d say our best was better than theirs. We didn’t even play our best against them in the finals and still found a way to beat them.
