But you explicitly state that Dylan will now likely leave. Why is that? Maybe we've spent less on second-rowers so we can spend more on halves? Or the money we have currently allocated to outside backs in '23 we've allocated to spending more on halves from '24 onwards? Why is it that you've pointed out Dylan? Maybe Sivo/Blake will leave? Maybe Simonsson won't take up his option?
Because there would be huge demand for Dylan Brown, meaning it would require a significantly larger part of the cap to keep him than it would for Sivo or Blake. Guys like Drown aren’t really competing for a contract/roster position with guys like Waqa Blake, who are a dime a dozen. Drown is competing with the likes of Gutherson and Moses.

He is but I also think his appeal to other teams has been a bit overstated by some here. He's not been or at least seen as a leading half and so I think we might keep both.

That’s true, but I reckon we’re already paying Drown 700k next year. Sivo and Blake are both costing us plenty. If we decide to invest less in their positions from 2024 onwards then that cap space can go to our halves. I think it’s a much better investment.

I agree with IALB. I reckon we’re sightly favourites to secure both. Drown would be taking massive risk to be the dominant half in an unknown entity (and probably a bottom 8 side for a while). What’s his value going to be when he comes off contract there? Another wasted talent like Shaun Johnson if you ask me. He could be anything with us.

Kenny and Sterlo…Moses and Drown. Rolls off the tongue.

I did find it curious that Brad singled out our props for playing big minutes, because they're on big contracts.

I don't disagree with that, but I think he needs to do the same thing with regards to Sivo, and Blake - Sivo isn't involved enough, and Blake isn't really giving us bang for our buck.

Over to you, Brad.

He may single them out by not agreeing to offer them new contracts. He probably agreed to offer Reg and Paulo the contracts they're on and trusts them to play "big minutes"

I think it was the right call to say that, tbh.

I think he needs to turn his attention to getting his big-dollar outside backs to pull their weight.

Sivo is deadly inside the 10m zone, and runs the ball back fairly well - but he just doesn't do it enough. And he's on good coin.
