Sure, but at the other end of the spectrum we haven’t exactly gone out and bought star players into the club from elsewhere.

Maybe some would consider Moses in that category, but on the other hand plenty others would have called him incredibly inconsistent and a downhill skier (they still do).

I think BA has done well to get what he has out of these players. Under him Moses, Paulo, Gutherson and Matterson became Origin players.RCG was on the origin scrap heap, but is now back.

Hopgood is now a fringe origin player and Lane was close just a season ago. Papalii and Mahoney became good enough they got big money offers from other clubs. Carty playing the best footy of his career.

So when it’s said that BA can ‘polish a turd’ I don’t think it’s meant so literally, taking actual shit players and making them good. More that he can help players realise their potential. Not all players have gotten there, but there aren’t many players who have gone backwards under BA

exactly

cotric might be one of those guys, he might not. but BA has the ability

just dont expect the Ado carrs and the wightons of the world especially in the post moses/brown cap

“I don’t want to be going anywhere else,” Cartwright said. “I love Parramatta, they gave me a chance when I had no one. I’ve got some really close friends here and I love [coach] Brad [Arthur], all the coaching staff. So I’d love to stay here.”

The parties are close to finalising a two-year extension, a process that would have been completed already had there been clarity over the salary-cap figure beyond this year. The commitment is a reward for both parties.

“Unbelievable,” Moses said. “I feel that comfortable next to him. The footy he’s playing at the moment is a credit to him. The style of footy that he has had to adapt to and change to - what he’s doing now to what he used to do - it’s massive. It’s a big thing. The footy that he used to play, to just put that aside and play with the tough mentality that he’s doing, I feel that safe out there next to him.

“It’s the work that he’s doing off the field, getting his body right and things like that, how he trains. He had a big preseason with us this year and obviously we didn’t have Laney [Shaun Lane] at the start of the year, so we needed a back-rower to stand up for us. He was one of them. He protects me a lot. He’s been good.

Just looking at Marty Tapau knees into Campbell Graham, waits for the poison dwarf on NRL 360 calling for a season long ban for use of knees. Oh! Wait it’s not Parra, silence I would think, it’s not his go.

Brain snap not his go........

Looking at a player like Ilias and how average he is. I’m not at all worried about Sanders leaving when I see promising players like him, Flanagan, Ash Taylor,
Brookes, Mullen with arguably more talent than him fall by the wayside.

And if he makes it we will buy him back like we did with Moses.

Ricky hasn't developed a half in 20 years. He hasn't got the patience with a prodigy to spend 4/5 years developing him.

The Kayo merkins were giving it to Taupau at half time

I agree. We made the right choice. So many juniors just don’t turn out. A bird in the hand is worth two in the bush type scenario. And as @King-Gutho94 mentioned, we’ve got a chance to buy him back once Mitch hangs em up.
