Whom ffs? Which two young blokes were worth a top 30 spot? If you think Lenaz and Brazel could outplay Hodgson and Davey you are vastly overrating the quality of the Jersey Flegg competition. And they don't need to be in the top 30 to "continue to improve". It's a waste of a couple of spots to pick a couple of kids who don't even impress in reserve grade.

Salary cap bites Penrith, they lose Origin reps like Api and Capewell as well as Kikau and a few others.... They promote from within (mostly) and win premierships back to back to back....

Salary cap bites Eels who've won nothing and we lose an above average first grader (Rheed), and a few honest toilers in Kaufusi, Stone and Niukore.... We go and buy a broken down Hodgson and bring a part time carpenter/footballer (Davey) back to the club and miss the 8 altogether...

Bad luck and no resources strikes again...

The problem is that our juniors aren't ready and there is no guarantee that better players will be available for the price we paid for them

It's easy to say we just go out and buy better players, it doesn't work that way

Doorey played OK at the start offensively but I think it was obvious that BA didn't like his defence which was why he was banished to Cup and Davies came in. Hopefully, Dorey's defense can improve next season.

Also, didn't Davies defend in the middle when he came on ? That's not Doorey's job.

He may copped a spray from James Graham but i reckon it was worth it.

Not juniors but Hands and Moretti should have been promoted to top 30 contracts at the end of last season.

Then you could have promoted a junior to the top 30 for 3 seasons on min wage knowing they will play first grade in that time..

It's not like we have 2 players currently in our top 30 who are not going to play first grade again....

I would assume he is staying as he would have been grabbed by another club by now.

I'd say he'll be on a dev. But has been told that he's long term and will be upped when Momo, Makka or Rodwell leaves.
