Clarkson a typical pommy tosser. In fact i would argue one of the biggest going around.

That’s very unfair on the ability of Matt Arthur who is a genuinely very good player, the issue there is the failure to sign an adequate player, Lussick has not met any metrics of being a serviceable NRL 9. Don't think anyone should jump on a players ability because of his name, go and watch him play and you may see a different player to your comments.

I agree I have seen him play and if his name was not Arthur people would be making different comments and want him in the team.

I think most people would be happy to give him the number 9 in first grade, the biggest issue is his lack of size/muscle. That is all. This is not the same situation as when Jake was being picked in the 17 - he simply wasn't up to it talent wise and his numbers 2 years on (when he should be a better player) in reserve grade for Blacktown reinforce that view.

Our season is at the point where quite simply, if BA is not going to give Hands another crack at 9, then he might as well throw Matt in. Lussick should be in Cup for the rest of the season IMO.

MA may be / may not be ready for the NRL at this stage, but he will have no problems physically handling it. It aren’t like he is a defensive liability in NSW cup where the boys are just as big as the NRL.

Plus he is only 19, and is taller than Mahoney…..his size will be fine.

He does like to run the ball. And he does seem to make ok inroads when he does strength wise. I reckon one more off season and 5kgs will.be enough to have him ready. He will probably still put on a couple more after that.
It did cost me $35 to witness it due to the greed of the peanuts running the game. Unsure I'd ever go to another nsw cup game again. Add in a pie,drink and public transport and it was $60 with a half empty belly.

I put it to you that there was no room in the cap for a quality hooker. Consider that Mahoney would’ve been on significant unders in his final years here. He left for a contract we couldn’t match and so we brought in an experienced but ageing replacement with an injury history, who also wouldn’t have cost much. Hodgson’s replacement was also a low demand character.

You can talk all you want about the importance of the dummy half, but that position is only as important as you make it in your gameplan. Don’t forget the starting hookers in last year’s grand final were Kenny and Walters. I doubt either of them would cost much.

Id guess BA wants every player signed. He may not get everyone he wants but I cant imagine a universe where players are signed against BAs wishes.

It’s not the players we sign that is the problem, it’s all the ones we don’t get. Some clubs are able to fit more talent under the cap. This has been going on for decades.

At no point did I question MAs ability....

I'm just disgusted that BA is using his position for his own motives and it is blatantly obvious what his motives are, and have been.

I put it to you that BA wanted Hodgson (and was on 400-500k) and he is a big fan of Lussick (regardless of how much he costs).

Lussick is slow, can not pass accurately and is expected to play 80 minutes which he certainly can not do to first grade level. Terrible decision. Kenny and Walters are both miles ahead of Lussick and would be cheaper than what we paid Hodgson.

I think he’s inept at best, I was critical when he was signed. Taking the West Tigers dregs is not a great sign. Him and his teams work since 2022 has been downright diabolical. He should be walked out the door right behind Bea Arthur.
