Whatever happened to the eels under 20's player that was let go, because he supposedly stole a teammates wallet. I think the Sharks picked him up. He ever play FG?

Ahhhhhh...

Never knew why we let him go until today.

He was a gun in the making.

I wouldn't say he's overrated. He's actually a very good player, that is being paid like he's the games premier player.

If Farah was on 500k I doubt JT would be trying to move him on.

That, and he supposedly has killed a few coaches off at the Tigers

To be fair, half the reason that he is stil getting paid like a superstar is because he supposedly kept back ending his deals. If they were "evened out", over his contracts, he might well be "only" on $700-800k this year (just a guess). Given that he's still probably the third best 9 in the game, I think that's about par.

Seems JT really f**ked up getting rid of Farah in the off season. Souths wanted him until JT bungled it.

Hahaha...Taylor is an absolute peanut. Even more of a reason for Farah to be dirty on the coach. He possibly could have been a lock in first grade at Souths if not for Taylor's intervention, now he's been dropped to reggies in attempt he asked for a release. Stand your ground Robbie, call their bluff and take the cash!!

Yeah what a dickhead, imagine trying to replace a player with another player........

It's cool that you hate him and it's cool that old players hate him etc. cause they want to talk up for players cause they were players but Farah is not a victim here......the f**ker is trying to move on his 3rd coach because he has been told to follow directions.

De Gois. Pronounced "De Gooey".

I used some "", so clearly someone else (tbc) said it.

If you don't recognise that, then you are a dumb merkin.

Out of Farah, Peats, De Gois, Pritchard who do you think we would get the best value from if they all were going to cost $250k per year?
Of the four I think Farah is still the best all round player. He will probably remain so next year. Peats is next best, for his defence alone, but I think Pritchard is potentially a better player than Peats. De Gois is currently worth about $100-$150k, IMO, declining each year (due to age and likely reduced availability).

Souths could have taken him and a decent chunk of his salary but now the tigers might have 950k sitting in reserves for a year, and all these hookers in Farrah, Ballin, Cherrington and makeshift hookers in Halatau and now f**king Rankin! How is that good management?

Yeah very true but for me pritchard has not shown much to suggest he will be better then peats. Peats attack is under rated, even though he isn't as quick as pritchard he is a good runner from acting half and engaging the markers.
If the 250k was over 2-3 years I'd say a 250k salary Peats would be the best value but no way you will get him for that. For a single season of 250k Farah is the best value and that is a chance. Pritchard and DeGois would be over valued at 250k

I think Pritchard at his best is a $500k player. It's just consistency and availability that are holding him back (and he is only 22 this year). He will get more consistent. But his value when he re-signed would have been about $150k-$200k. Hopefully he's not on any more than that.

Peats is very consistent, and pretty much at his peak. He is worth less than $500k and probably won't get any better than he is.

Farah at his best (a few years ago now) was worth more than $500k. He's still a very good hooker, worth maybe $350k-$400k? How much less would he be worth next year (he turns 33 in January) or the year after (34 for those of you following at home)?

Obviously these values are just my opinion. But opinion is exactly what determines value and price. Let me know how much you agree or disagree. I'm sure you merkins will.

I ran a few calculations on this and am leaning towards agreeing.

So your opinion is that pritchard at his best is worth 500k. Now most would agree we haven't seen his best considering he has never started a game and played 17 games in 4 years. I take that as your paying for potential, so he potentially is worth 500k of his lower grade form translates to the top grade.
Also your valuation is in today's cap, 500k is different today then it was 3 years ago. At his best Farah is worth close to a million in today's money, at his best he was a top 5-10 player in the Nrl. Peats is worth 500k, a top hooker who will probably play rep footy.

Peats is a very good player and a potential NSW hooker. Pritchard can't string ten games together. To be brutally honest I don't see a future for Kaysa in the NRL, he is too small, too aggressive and as a result of both those things far too fragile. He reminds me a hell of a lot of Anthony Mitchell who was the next big thing for about 7 years but never amounted to anything.

I would have never let Peats go, personally.

So if he's worth around $350-$400k, Is he worth $550-600k to the Tigers to pay him to play elsewhere?
