I had a look at his Supercoach points:

2016: Avg points 43, Avg min: 60
2017: Avg points 47, Avg min: 59
2018: Av points 46, Avg min: 62
2019: Av points 38, Avg min 41

He has played less minutes this year but his points (per minute) are pretty much the same each year. He was never in 'much better form'. His form this year is similar to previous years. He has always been a plodder and paid on potential that he never reached. It is only now that BA has realised his level of plod and reduced his minutes eventually dropping him.
The same output per minute maintained for longer minutes means better form. And as I said he is no longer getting minutes on the edge so his attacking output has declined. Therefore a decline in form.

Really?

Tep may have a bit better work rate but has a worse tackle efficiency. Purely from an observational point of view, Gower seems to get back to an effective marker position more often than not (the wrestle)...something that tep has consistently struggled with. I certainly wouldn’t say he’s a MUCH better defender.

But I would say Gower is a MUCH better attacker.
Because Moeroa is usually first into contact. Gower rarely is.

But it's not the same. It was less in previous years. His output per minute is best this year (though as I mentioned in another post the trend for all players is that your points per minute reduces the longer you play.) His form isn't better this year just because his points per minute is better. His form is pretty much the same. I don't know how you can say he was in 'much better form' in previous years. He just played longer minutes (with less output.)

I don’t think Pou even read your post. At best he has maintained the same form as this year (which is poor), across more minutes, which is even worse from the team’s perspective.

Longer minutes is better form. Coaches generally play their best forwards for longer.

Perhaps Tep shouldn’t be then.
Well he's playing second row in reserve grade so he's obviously got things to work on. Either that or he's not fit. There's something definitely wrong with him this year.

Though I'm not sure anyone would agree we need less line speed.

Lol. FFS Pou, now you’re clutching at straws.

I think the fact he’s looking outside of the NRL is a far better indicator of Tep’s ability over a long period, rather than his “loss of form” this year...or do you think every NRL coach (including BA) has only seen him play the last 11 games?

Don’t you prescribe to the “form is temporary, class is permanent” mantra?
