Can tennis players move fast enough to make every shot a forehand? It's not the same. On a long shift with no defenders near it's no big deal for a player to catch-pass by swiveling to his good side. You see it all the time. I remember a famous play by the Johns brothers that had one of them make the same pass.
It depends on how fast the defence is rushing up. The inability to pass both sides didn’t matter so much for Will Smith because he was a backup but I don’t see how anyone can think that a first choice half doesn’t need to be proficient to a certain degree at passing to both sides.

Yep, it's all just a matter of degrees. It's the same with any aspect of the game. Nobody is expected to be able to make every tackle, for example. A certain number of missed tackles is acceptable. Nobody is expected to run around like a mad merkin and still be effective for 80 minutes. A level of 'active recovery' is expected from even the most hard working player. It's the same with technical skills.

If we’re being honest you should be able to pass both sides if you’re playing Firsts in suburban footy. Obviously other aspects of his game outweigh that but geez.

It’s pick your poison but for me that f**king corduroy faced merkin “Crawls” is the worst of a bad bunch. The dope can barely finish a coherent sentence and continually seems to be in a state of confused outrage like early onset Alzheimers manifest. If his brother didn’t run Fox League he’d be licking handrails at Gosford Train Station and having rotten vegetables thrown at him by misguided teens. In fact ffs that should become a regular segment on 360 next year.

fitzsimmons is the biggest dipshit - but he is not in rugby league

I'd agree hoops is the worst of those others

This is true, but in his own mind Fitz is an expert on all fields of Australian history and sport, thus why we have to suffer his out of touch and often bizarre statements when he ventures into the field of League 'journalism'.

Hooper is definitely a deserved winner of this honour.
