The salary cap keeps going up so we have no idea how many players we have to lose to be honest.
The salary cap is going up for every club though. So it increases the cost of every player, especially the most expensive ones. That's where the bulk of the increases go.
Plus we don't know what kind of 3rd party deals he would attract after his stint in the NFL, he might only hit our cap for 500k.
The NRL won't allow us to pay too much of a player's salary outside the cap. They've knocked us (and other clubs) back before. So if we offer $500k + $1M third party I can't see the NRL letting it slide. And if another club is offering $1.2M + $300k third party I'm certain we'd need to do better than $500k under the cap.
