We hold the spoon, for the second year in a row, the club (rightly) is looking to improve that situation, not a lot of good players want to come here because of our lack of success, if one comes along, we need to go hard, if we can afford it, and we can.
Luai is in the elite class, (the fact a lot on panthers fans are here telling us it's a mistake), shows that he is, our coach was also an elite half, so I will give him the benefit of doubt, that he knows what he's doing.
The club may improve, eventually with our development program, but we do need to continue with trying to be successful, Benji's career hangs on these decisions, like all coaches do. All players come with risk, we've had a lot of flops, but the club still has to try, people calling for the club to be disbanded, relocate, have the license taken off them, so they look at a good player, people go crackers.
Luai, if he comes, would do more than help us win games, he will show our current backs and our kids in development what is required to get there.
All I know is, Nathan Cleary ain't coming.
