This Klemmer thing is giving me the shitesters.
How in the heck is this going to play out and have the team focussed and excited about next year.
Are we going to have to endure more ridicule. Are we writing off 2024 before it starts?
I'm behind the club/team but really, what the....

Regardless we don’t need Luai, No one pays $1.1 on an unknown quantity and soo failure …We’ve already got gun halves why spend a million plus on another half that no-ones really sure about. That makes no sense.. Luai isn’t the million $ player we need. Best was, but no way is he coming with our $850k or thereabouts offer…..…I doubt Klemmer would leave He’s an old man now…He’s happy where he is… I hope he makes that clear to the club before this offer to Luai is made and we’re back to square one with an average backline, and no $$ to improve it..

Hopefully it's only media talk, though a few are saying now, but I don't think it will be '24 season, if it's true?

PANTHERS’ BIG FEAR IN LUAI BATTLE

THE price tag on Panthers five-eighth Jarome Luai has been set at a minimum of $1.2 million per season.

That’s the figure Luai’s management has floated with the Wests Tigers which is fair enough given there’s a shortage of quality, proven playmakers on the NRL open market.

Three-time premiers the Panthers suspect the Wests Tigers may attempt to try and blow them out of the water by offering a long-term deal of up to five years.

If that’s the case then Luai has to be a big chance of ending up at Concord.

As good of a player as Luai is it’s interesting there’s really only three clubs in the market for the three-time premiership-winner.

The Panthers and the Wests Tigers are both clearly going to have a crack while the Bulldogs are simply sitting back and taking a wait and see approach.

If Luai’s management comes to them then Canterbury-Bankstown will listen.

But the Dogs are clearly not about to get dragged into a bidding war.

The other interesting off-season development out of the Wests Tigers is the club telling former Kangaroo and NSW Origin front rower David Klemmer he is free to look for another club.

Klemmer was only signed by the Wests Tigers this time last year and still has two years to run on his contract with a mutual option for an additional season in 2026.

We’re big fans of Klemmer in terms of his leadership, experience and the work ethic and standards he sets at training on a daily basis.

It’s a strange one but as we’ve seen under the reign of bumbling CEO Justin Pascoe it’s always different gravy in Tiger Town.

OMG, please, if you consider yourself a journalist, hand your f**king badge in, you deadbeat? I note, that his price has gone up again as well?

He's actually a tiger supporter.
I'm afraid boys and girls this is not going to stop until we win our share of games.
Hoops and Benny. There is only one bit of music that fits with those idiots......

Who are you talking about? Luai? Surely you read too much of the fake news ltd and tiktok coverage
I won't be suprised if this contract gets to 1.5 mil a season... this is the definitely the circuit breaker tigers has been looking for

Anyone who thinks that signing Luai is a bad idea is either a troll (well played) or a fkn moron. Our biggest issue last year was attack. Api had nobody running off to set up the play.....HMMMMM if only we had an Origin quality attacking half that Api has won a couple of premierships with?? Imagine if it was a mid-20s Polynesian player that all our young Polynesian players could look up to??? LOL Wests Tigers have never won a premiership with an young, Polynesian attacking half!!!

As I said...trolls or morons.

If Nofa and Doeuihi move on, the below is actually possible salary cap wise

1. Bula
2. Steins
3. To'a
4. Olam*
5. Tupou
6. Luai*
7. Sullivan
8. Stefano
9. Api
10. AFB*
11. Bateman
12. Papali'i
13. Klemmer

14. Da Silva
15. Twal
16. Pole
17. Kepoa/Seyfarth

Sezer is on minimal contract and Fainu is young enough to bide his time and cover for Origin/Injury. Naden is great depth in the backline and our forwards depth is covered with all the youngsters coming through.

He will be a good buy regardless of what you pay.I am lucky as a member I get to see the boys regularly and I can guarantee luia the media perception is not the real guy
He is a great guy always up for a chat and will give his time to all fans

Yeah, I put up a post on the panthers site earlier, to say that imo, he offers a lot more than his playing ability to us.
1. Giving us better options in attack
2. Giving our players the knowledge to know what is needed to be successful
3. Giving other outside players a reason to not automatically bypass us as a destination.

Our ultimate aim should be to win the comp.

A bit of chatter on twitter saying the club is not interested in releasing Klemmer, it stems from another club (not named) making an inquiry about getting him?
It mentions that the club does not need Klemmer’s money to do a deal with Luai?

I hope this true.

An old Fox NRL article?

Penrith star Jarome Luai was just six when he fell in love with Benji Marshall while watching his first game of rugby league.
Luai was on a camping trip with his parents at Patonga on the NSW Central Coast when he watched Marshall steer the Wests Tigers to the 2005 NRL premiership with a freakish flick pass for Pat Richards to score a crucial first-half try.
Fifteen years on, Luai will partner his idol in the halves for the Maori All Stars against the Indigenous All Stars in Townsville on Saturday night.
“I clearly remember that ’05 grand final and where I was when Benji did that flick pass – it is a memory that I’ll have for the rest of my life,” Luai said.
“Our camping neighbours happened to have a little portable TV, so we watched the game on it.
“I remember my mum got me a Tigers towel afterwards and I used it after every shower for the next five years – I just didn’t want to let go of it.
“I’ve been a fan of Benji ever since.”

Luai is also rooming with Marshall in Maori All Stars camp, so he is making the most of every minute with the man who inspired him to become an NRL player.
From extras at training to feedback on his passing and kicking, the Panthers five-eighth is all ears when the veteran Kiwi is around.

“I was a bit starstruck of Benji at first, but I’m rooming with him, so I’m just trying to learn as much as I can from him,” he said.
“He is pretty old in age, but he acts pretty young, so it was pretty easy to connect with him straight away.
“I’m really enjoying my time around the Maori boys but especially Benji.
“He has had such a long career and he has been so successful. He has been my idol since day one, so I’m pretty happy to be getting this opportunity.”
After a stellar 2020 season, which included a grand final and NSW Origin squad selection, Luai is determined to become better this season.
He believes Marshall is the perfect role model to take his game to another level in 2021.
“Benji has given me a lot of confidence from what I did last year,” he said.
“He is telling me little things I can do to improve my game, so I’m really grateful for him trying to be some sort of teacher to me.
“I’m just soaking it all in and having fun with the boys.
“You can see what impact Benji has on the boys with how he trains, what he brings to the team and how much of a leader he is.
“He has got a really big voice within the side and he has earnt that respect over the years, so I’m really happy to learn from him.”

Luai is also relishing the chance to honour his mother Raumako’s Samoan heritage during Saturday’s clash against the Indigenous All Stars.
“I haven’t had much to do with my Maori side growing up, but my family means a lot to me and I’m grateful to represent my mum and her culture and her upbringing.
“This gives me the opportunity to learn a bit more about where I come from and I’m really blessed to be here.”

Huh? Luai’s not origin quality. He was dropped. And he should have been dropped a lot earlier than he was!!!

We don’t need his childish ramblings after he gets it in the neck from fans when things go wrong (and he will because league fans don’t forget) and we don’t need his offensive, post code, gang signing thug like behaviour when things go right.. Thats the last type of role model the young Polynesians need right now!!! Especially the Fainu brothers whos brothers in prison and who could be a couple of misdemeanours away from joining him, with the WT name attached..and what would Luai care..

Oh poor BJ, someone disagreed with you..Harden up son!!
