TIGERS PULL OUT OF RACE FOR AFB

Interim Tigers chief executive Shane Richardson has revealed the merger club have pulled out of the race to sign Warriors superstar Addin Fonua-Blake.

The Dally M Prop of the Year dropped a bombshell on the New Zealand club by requesting an immediate release to return to Sydney.

After a meeting with Warriors powerbrokers it was decided he would remain for 2024 before negotiating a deal with a Sydney-based club ahead of the 2025 season.

The Bulldogs, Sharks and Dragons remain in the hunt for Fonua-Blake’s services but the Tigers won’t be tabling a deal.

Richardson revealed the club believes their forward pack is already strong enough and will strengthen internally with juniors.

“I’ll give you an exclusive, we’ve actually withdrawn our offer for Addin Fonua-Blake,” Richardson said on SEN.

“I think he’s a great player, he’s one of the top three front rowers in the game.

“Our forward pack is really strong, and we can add to that with our young players coming through.

“We need flexibility in our cap to be able to do things we need to do to make us stronger now.

“From that point of view, it’s my opinion and also Benji’s (Marshall) because I wouldn’t do it without Benji, it’s not anything to do with that it’s got everything to do with where we need to focus our attention on.”

Im not sure if there are a certain amount of breaches needed to sack a player....but it is good that we seem to be intent on shipping him out.....one way or the other.
Nofo does not seem to be the sharpest knife in the drawer. The sacking route seems very possible.
I think verbal and then written warnings are pretty standard. I think with the fact nofo was injured maybe a written warning was as harsh a penalty as could be expected.esp with the player protection committee hanging around..a written warning is still serious ..
If a more serious breach occurs the written warning combined with that breach may be a stronger argument for dismissal.

Even TSP has gone quiet, now that the board has been sacked he's lost for words ha ha.
When do the boys finish preseason for this year?

Richo has come out and said he's backing Benji all the way.
He also said Madge had a job for life as coach of the Rabbits after he took them to the grand final....later when the players started winging he was punted.
Now that the independent review resulted in the board sacking themselves (albeit leaving the door open for themselves)
noone is safe.
.....THAT'S HOW IS SUPPOSED TO BE!
We need everyone accountable and operating at peak efficiency and performance.

Has the Scott Fulton and Benji Marshall conflict really over?
I think out of all the club's officialdom the working relationship between these two guys is super important....why? Because all the other postions at this stage are interim but not them.
Their two roles are crucial moving forward. They also have "red personalities" which means they both want to lead or be seen making the Ds.
However if Richo can get these two to have a romantic night out and become mates and work together then that would really get this club moving in the right direction.

The only problem I see with interim appointments (including football ops) is accountability. If at some stage if it's not working then they know there's an out and where does that leave us?

I will b doing cartwheels if we are able to legally sack him. However when ur on 500k/yr for the next 2 yrs & ur absolutely worthless it’s inconceivable he would overstep the boundary re breaching contract. He will b well informed via his agent where the boundary lies.
Unless he is an idiot.

There’s chatter on twitter that Luai will sign with us shortly, like on Monday, but the source seems pretty weak, so not putting much faith in it, only hope hahaha
