I appreciate it is still only an IF, but what’s everyones thought on this in regards to other players, IF it did happen?

Is it a case of moving Brooks on, they seemed to have made other enquires earlier to suggest that was a plan?
Maybe, Wakeham to 7 and Schuster to 6?
I don’t think if he was coming it would to be a forward at this stage?

It still only scuttle butt atm though.

We will probably give the lazy precious ingrate a raise
I am not part of his fan club, but is he lazy?

The article I posted a little time ago, states we are asking for a price reduction, if we were to sign him.

Pretty sure our new NRL recruitment officer wouldn’t be giving us a known dud as his first signing? Doubt he would last long in that was the case?

But, I guess we’ll see what happens, if it happens?

Just out of interest, what is reasonable coin for his signature.

I know it’s not a realistic value in todays inflated mktplace for a player with his supposed potential as a 5/8 but at this stage imo he isn’t worth more than 200k.He has currently fallen behind a reserve grader like Cooper Johns in the pecking order.

TBH, I'm a bit surprised by the negativity on this by some, I mean, who do we think we will get (if we don't get him) that is better or as good as him? Nathan Cleary, Latrell Mitchel or any other top line player aint coming.

I would be surprised though if the things being mentioned in the press (for what that's worth) isn't covered in his contract, through Manly covering some costs to incentives, etc?

Maybe a player swap for Brooks? Consider, not resigning Brooks would free up $1m a year, this guy gets $500k a season, (a guess) that obviously leaves us $500k to look at another player of quality?

IMO, the halves are a major part of our problem? Something has to change.

We are last years and current wooden spoon favourites this year, there is no cavalry coming, this bloke is young and by all accounts a better than good player, who should add value to this team to finally become a success.

Every player will have issues not to everyone's liking, recalling that Hastings left Easts, Manly and Australia because of other players (same player having problems with Schuster, in fact), he's not a bad player.
If he's available, I don't see why we wouldn't have a go for him, he's quality by all accounts (even his current coach says that)? Would certainly expect the club to do due diligence on any player they are interested in, to see who and what type of person they are. But there are no guarantees with anything.

If he is a good fit for the team, then he's needed, surely.

Ted, I know you said "not realistic" but you wouldn't get a reserve for reserve grade half for that cash?

Has he fallen behind Johns? I understood (from his coaches comments) that he is injured?

Bearing in mind, they are apparently after Flannagan from the Dog's?

Anyhow, we are discussing something that may never happen? Then we are stuck with Brooks:(

Apparently Fulton strongly connected to a player manager of Schuester and several Manly players including:

Haumole Olakauatu

I know we are well stocked in the back row, but Inwould happily take him and either move Bateman to lock or Papilli to the front row rotation.

As confirmed by Strive Player Agency, Manaia Cherrington will rejoin the Tigers effective immediately, although it's unclear which contract he has been signed to.

Not sure why we need so many 9’s?

Maybe some have been tapped?

Looks like the “No, Nay, Nein” sayers (lol) will get their way? Just glad we are trying.

It never stops, on the TWT instagram site, the new rumour is that we are looking at Shaun Johnson (Warriors) for next year, he’s older than Marshal isn’t he?
Not sure what all this means for Brooks, he can’t be feeling the love if any of this is true?

In fairness I think it is more a recognition that AD will miss most of next year and an awareness that Wakeman, while going ok, is only a journeyman half. With AD out we will need at least 3 half’s on our books next year.

I expect Brooks will be resigned unfortunately.

Good call, yeah maybe, i guess we’ll find out soon enough?

Bearing in mind, they apparently chased Pearce at the beginning of the season?

I wouldn’t believe anything siebold says. Manly could be entering a world of pain over the next month and not a nice place to be

Yea I agree but I think he’s all bluff. I think he’d be the type to stick to his word and stay at the dragons until his contract is through

He is close to Hook so if they are dumb enough to really screw him over he might be a chance. Although at his age he would probably chase a premiership rather than come with us.

but I kinda agree if the dragons treat hook respectively he would see out his contract

Where there’s smoke…….

This article is stating they have been making enquires re Johnson for a while?

There seems to be a concerted effort to find a replacement for Brooks?
