I'm wondering just how much influence John Dorahy has had since joining the board.

I can't remember the last time we had someone on the board with genuine football knowledge. Maybe just maybe the rest of the board are listening to what he has to say about running a NRL club.

A lot has happened in the short time since he came on board.

This is one the most absurd things I've heard. Have the club even had a board meeting since he was appointed? Is he coaching the team?

I don't know the answers to your questions. I don't have the answer to my wondering or I wouldn't be wondering.

To say this is one of the most absurd things you have heard suggests you haven't been connected to this forum for very long. Have you ever heard what politicians say?

I have no idea if they talked to him about signing Fulton or if he suggested they act quickly without talking to Sheens etc.

One thing I do know is in my life I have said plenty of things far more absurd than my pondering about Dorahy.

The blue wiggle wants to buy the Wests Tigers.....
Blue Wiggle, Anthony Field, has said he wants to buy the Wests Tigers, his favourite NRL club, if he sells the Wiggles in five to ten years.

If he does buy the club, Field wants to bring back the Balmain Tigers, so the Western Suburbs Magpies would go to Lidcombe and the Balmain Tigers would return.

Field explained to Ben Fordham that he sees Balmain and the Western Suburbs as being in a “forced marriage” that’s a little “hard to take”.

“All the cash I own is in the Wiggles at the moment, but if I sell it, I would bring the Tigers and the leagues club back,” said Field.

Since the nrl approves the licenses, this will never happen.
He would probably do a better job than the current group of dopes though.

Me thinks that Anthony Field has been drinking to much of the kids red cordial.

What a tool, yeah Anthony go ahead and alienate a part of the supporter base.
Imagine if it was a wealthy Magpie supporter who suggested that the Tigers side be cut adrift?

It was a marriage of convenience so 2 clubs could survive.

Why not simply support the club with all the money you own?
Why not put your hand up and ask about board membership?
Pay for new skivvies?
1/2 time entertainment? (just kidding).

Fittingly, it was at a match when Field realised he had found the love of his life.

'And I remember I took my now-wife (Michaela) to a game, she was from Victoria and had no idea about league, one time at Leichhardt Oval,' he explained of one of the couple's first dates.

'We were watching the Tigers getting absolutely demolished and she had a few drinks and fell backwards off one of the bench seats and I thought: 'This is the girl I'm going to marry.'

I'm an old Balmain boy, he does sound like one of us? lol.

You mean you did the 1st date thing at Leichhardt Tigerm or your future wife fell backwards off a bench on your 1st date?
Nah, she hates the footy, except when the kids played, when they stopped she went back to hating it again, at least I don't have to explain every f**king thing that happens on the field:)

She's not a big drinker, but on our early dates she tried hard (and failed) to keep up with everyone, now she's just content to sip her wine, though occasionally she goes off the rails. hahahaha

If he wants to make a difference..
Between him and pathetic tight arsed Harry they could 3rd party the shit of the comp like never seen before. But we all know the NRL would step in and prevent it happening.

Would ponissi and bellamy sign this bloke?

I think when any potential recruit is considered, this question should always be asked.

Yes, those two have signed a few talented players, but they value character and effort just as much, and it's why players like Josh King thrive in that environment when he was simply considered a disposable extra in Newcastle. Because they're valued just as much as the superstars in Melbourne.

Besides, no one has ever called Munster, Grant, Paps, Hughes, Hynes, Finucane and every other player they've had through the club lazy. and if they are, they're weeded out.
Exactly. The storm prioritise hard work and commitment above all else. Look at what they have done after losing half their forward pack to the dolphins.
I went to the game tonight, and even after getting shafted with the worst call of the year they committed and gave it to the donkeys. We would have went to water and conceded 40. Character and drive to win is what matters most, and signing another fat lazy talented slug will only keep us down

Yeah, maybe he could buy out the Balmain side of the JV and make it a force again, (finally get the Balmain LC going) with both sides being strong, it can only be a positive?

Make no mistake, Dragons captain Hunt will be looking at alternative options after the decision to axe Griffin.

The champion no.7 still is still contracted until the end of 2025 with the Red V but there will be rival clubs eyeing Hunt as a halfback.

I wonder……….should we, could we, would we?

Player swap, anyone.
