Sunday Telecrap stated that Fulton wanted Jack Cogger but Marshall wanted Sezer who has now agreed to a deal pending a medical.
Heard from a good source connected to the Cogger family that he almost went to the dogs recently & I’m not sure y it fell through. He doesn’t want to come to Concord as his preference is to remain at Penrith which I believe is dependent on whether Luai remains at Penrith.

Dogs would have been an interesting choice since he was there previously and they let him go to the UK.

I just want to see the results of the "aggressive recruitment behind the scenes" that Lee has spruked on air about.
If it's all hot air then I suggest Lee, that you shut your mouth as your just making things worse.
If it does happen and we sign some guns (doubt it) then that's fantastic but don't go shooting your mouth off until players are signed sealed and delivered.
If your want to make your supporters to feel better then stop making STUPID DUMB DECISIONS and get your coaches to coach properly and your players to be accountable.

It's about Benji and Fulton airing their differences at a "crisis board meeting"
You've heard it all before TM, you just enjoy your beer mate.....where did you park the grey nomad?

Leeds Rhinos halfback Aidan Sezer linked with new club
by CALLHUMA WANKER 13/07/2023

Leeds Rhinos halfback Aidan Sezer is being linked with a new club with his current deal at Headingley running out at the end of the 2023 Super League season.

Sezer has become a key cog in the Rhinos’ wheel in recent years, helping to guide Leeds to the 2022 Super League Grand Final under head coach Rohan Smith.

However, with the halfback’s deal running out and with no indication that Leeds will extend it into 2024, Sezer has been linked with a move away from Headingley.
Now the Daily Telegraph is reporting that the Wests Tigers are eyeing up Sezer as the solution to their well-known halfback problems.

With Luke Brooks departing for the Manly Sea Eagles at the end of this season and with Adam Doueihi facing a number of months out due to an ACL injury, the Tigers are actively searching for a new linchpin.

Sezer, according to the Daily Telegraph, could be their man.

I’m in the coconut resort CP, I have a service on the van booked tomorrow at Edmonton, just down the road.
Gotta say if anyone has young kids, this is the place to go.

Player managers have told the Tigers the coaching staff will have to change before they send any of their players our way.

Sheens has to go so in comes Holbrook. He will only come if he has the head coaching gig for a reasonable time so Benji has to go. The board realizes that this all sits on the heads of Lee and Justin so they have to go.

The board take a good look at what they have done to the club over the years and know they have to go.

Holbrook looks at the roster and tells half of them they have to go.

If all of the above where to come true it would be a time of celebration for Tigers fans.

Tigers to chase Sezer signing after Marshall-Fulton peace talks
By Adam Pengilly
July 17, 2023 — 4.54pm

Benji Marshall has been given the green light to sign Aidan Sezer as the Tigers’ new halfback after club powerbrokers moved to settle the tension between the coach-in-waiting and recruitment boss Scott Fulton.

Sezer, who hasn’t played in the NRL since helping the Raiders to the 2019 grand final, has emerged as the club’s No.1 halfback target after chairman Lee Hagipantelis and chief executive Justin Pascoe took steps to bring Marshall and Fulton together on Monday.

Marshall and Fulton held separate talks with the club bosses over the direction of the club, which is staring at a second successive last-place finish if they can’t beat the struggling Dragons in Wollongong on Thursday night.

The identity of the club’s playmakers - the Tigers don’t have a ready-made half to start to 2024 on their current roster - has been a source of friction between Marshall and Fulton.

But according to sources speaking on the condition of anonymity due to the confidential nature of the talks, Marshall has been given the power to pursue a short-term deal to bring Sezer back from the English Super League.

Fulton, who was brought to the club earlier this year without the knowledge of coach Tim Sheens or his current assistant Marshall, had wanted to pursue Penrith’s back-up halfback Jack Cogger, who is seven years Sezer’s junior and has been understudy to Nathan Cleary this year.

But the parties agreed Marshall’s preference would take priority and the Tigers will now work to sign 32-year-old Sezer from Leeds.

Luke Brooks has taken up a four-year deal with Manly next season and Adam Doueihi is expected to miss the majority of 2024 as he recovers from another ACL tear, with current halfback Brandon Wakeham unsigned beyond this season.

Marshall and Fulton both agreed with Tigers bosses they would work together for the betterment of the club, which has won only three games this season.

Fulton’s board-driven appointment was seen as a tonic to help improve the Tigers’ roster, but it caught coach Tim Sheens and his assistant Marshall off guard. Marshall will take over from Sheens as head coach - possibly as early as 2024 - and is signed until the end of 2027.

The urgency to find a halfback had caused angst between Marshall and Fulton with the Tigers having already missed out on several big-name targets such as Cameron Munster, Mitchell Moses, Mitchell Pearce and Shaun Johnson in the past year.

But Sezer will be their latest pursuit, giving Marshall the imprimatur to sign a halfback who will run his team.

The Tigers boast the most impotent attack in the competition, not helped by hooker Api Koroisau (jaw) missing three matches, and Brooks not having played in more than a month with a hamstring problem. But there could be help on the way.

The Tigers are trying to fend off interest from Wayne Bennett’s Dolphins for brothers Samuela and Latu Fainu, who have been given permission to negotiate with rivals by Manly.

Latu, 18, is seen as a potential long-term halves prospect, but his management want a clearer picture of the Tigers’ future before committing one of the game’s hottest prospects to the club.
