750k is extreme, Widdop was offered ~650k or so from memory..

I mean he is a very talented player and we clearly need one, but hes usually a bench sort of impact player, we probably need someone who can do long minutes.. also hes only really had 1 good year? So be a risk to sign so early.. anyway.. we have money to burn and id like to see it spent on a gun forward so I spose why not..

Id also like to see how Beale/Farrell go in 2014, if neither fires, id trade a few of em in for a better centre.

If the dragons are any hope of jagging a player with nsw or aussie representative on his CV im afraid they are
Going to have to pay well overs....We are just not a club the very good players are queuing up to join at the moment fact.....

Dugan was leftovers but an excellent pick up. Widdop was offered 375k to stay in Melbourne and im told around 450k from an other club from memory the broncos . Signed with dragons for 550k per year. The rest are local juniors and would probably command alot more money from rival clubs compared to what the dragons are paying them at the moment

Fair enough. Just saying that there's plenty of class at the Club to appeal to off contract players. Yes, may have to pay overs but when you are trying to reestablish a reputation, it's not surprising.

I think its a discussion that will be much easier to have in 2 months time when we have a feel for Price's future and how our forward pack stacks up.

Right now its a confusing time due to having no faith in the coaches ability to get the most out of players, but obviously the worst case scenario is you get what happened to the tigers, signing Blair on an outrageous figure, and he wasnt a patch on the player he was at the Storm.

Fifita may have had a breakout season last year but he's been a notable talent for a long time. He was rated highly at the Tigers but was unfit and underdone. He won't fizzle out any time soon...

Agree 100%... if we can get our shit right.. and be the team we are capable of being... we wont have to pay overs for any player to join us... however... if with the talent we have we still go shit house... then even overs wont get any decent players in the red V...
Fingers crossed pricey can deliver with this roster... that will determine alot regarding player recruitment

And JDB, Stockwell, Frizzel, Williams and Runciman have lots of potential.

Add Fifita and the club would be looking very attractive to a potential signing. That signing would be huge for us.
