Is it arrogance, an I don't care attitude or does he really think that he is a successful coach.

At 0-2 and looking at 0-3 and perhaps 0-4 why the hell would you book yourself on Fox 360 this Monday night - he should be hitting the tapes and preparing for Thursday night.

FFS

Mary has booked himself in to Fox 360 to “explain” our poor start to the season.

Excuses will include but not be limited to:

Our young forwards are too inexperienced for first grade

The JDB saga

Frizell leaving a nut in Townsville

The spine needing more time to gel

Korbin Sims being unavailable for first 2 rounds

He will as always throw someone else under the bus.

The young forwards are first cab off the rank.

He won’t accept any responsibility for the Norman signing. We needed a Widdop replacement in 2020, not 2019.

Poor team selection, poor use of bench ...

In the meantime, the board are negotiating the extension of his contract.

Unbelievable.

The Board & coach*** staff know that dominoes will fall if Waterboy is punted.

His going to the media is a tacit threat to them all - indicating he’ll squeal like a stuck pig if he’s taken down....

I’m smelling the fear

A house of cards

Bring it on.....

There is nothing more I would like than to sack Mary and bring in a topline coach. Unfortunately the time for that action has passed as all the great coaches were snapped up at the end of last season. the only coaches who remain available are untried rookies or coaches who have been out the business for a while and lost touch. JD...untested in NRL, Holbrook..untested in NRL, Toovey...out of action for ages, Tony Smith..untested in NRL, O'Brien..untested in NRL, Barrett...still unproven at NRL, Henry...out of action for some time.

My point is we have have missed the opportunity to have a top line, experienced coach with a proven track record in NRL...any one we get now would be a rookie or untested/ unsuccessful at NRL level...any new appointment would be a massive gamble and we'd be likely be whinging again at the same time next year about lack of success...where to now, I don't really know!!

All of that it true, however, i would gamble on just about anyone of the names you mentioned as opposed to the status quo. Not all, must most of the names u mentioned.

Comps are not won in March /April, but they can be lost. Cant get much lower than where we are now.

Hang on, isn't Millwood in charge of roster?

How is Norman his fault?

Granted he has no idea how to use him effectively, but peeps on here have said Mary cannot take credit for the roster.

Which is it?

Sometimes clubs can get lucky or be astute enough to take a punt on a rookie coach. Trent Robinson had a brief coaching stint in Super league and France before winning a grand final in his first year in NRL with the Roosters (ask yourself whether Mary could have guided that squad to a title). Wayne Bennett had one season in the NRL as co-coach at the Raiders before being appointed at the Broncos, although he had coached in the Brisbane comp with players like Wally Lewis etc. I would take JD on the basis of his solid apprenticeship under top coaches : I believe only politics and his association with Bennett contributed to his missing out on the top job at Brisbane.

I think we need a cranky old Bastard - give Griffen a call up - I know that I am going to catch grief for this one but when I was playing I worked a lot harder for the old man than what I did when the club turned to an ex player who had retired a few years before hand.

Very commendable effort there, SF.

Definitely a change in mood by the media. kent asked questions that needed to be asked and didn't really show that he accepted the answers.Even mentioned Field.
The media can ride a coach for storylines but they can also change their position and hunt as a pack. Remember last year and 2017 "the guy can coach "comments are now very rare ( except Crawley ! )

Much ado about nothing on 360. Basically, flip flop'n on why he's rotating the spine. Got pretty defensive about it actually when pushed by Kent. Also said Duff is effectively considered a bench warmer, there in cover of injury in the backs and has been getting more time because of McInnes shifting to lock (why not play Robson if that's the case), covering Jack, Friz and Korbin... So he has no f**king idea in regards to using his bench as we all knew.
Can't stand the bloke!
