I only learned last night that Autex isn't 'his' company - his father founded it. So he's a mini Trump - as a quote in a song once said (paraphrased) 'he was born on third base, and thinks he hit a triple'.

I'm surprised this didn't register earlier? Being about ten or so years older than you I'm more familiar with Autex. They also sponsored the NZ Rugby League Annual (Bernie Wood - Author) and were on the Kiwis uniforms during an exciting era for league, particularly the national team:



With me and Robinson being about the same age he'd have had to have been some kind of child tycoon to pull this off in 1983!

His father was a migrant to NZ from the North of England. Hence the love of league, and textiles!

Brown saying he won’t move to NZ is super weird. He did know he signed up to coach a NZ team right? If it weren’t for Covid he would have already been living in NZ for years.

Maybe he wants to jump ship as badly as everyone else and it’s easy to use the same ready-made excuse.

In any case, he’s made it all too easy to fire him now or at season’s end. But little point in it unless we can get a better coach to replace him.

Yeah, this. Brown knows he's a dead man coaching. He doesn't want to move the kids for one year when he figures he could be fired at any time. I completely get it. It hasn't worked out.

At least we can get on with trying to find someone now.
