But it was done prior to Sharp coming in. Much like Ainsley at Titans.

The revolving door of Coaches and CEOs hurt us. Hopefully stability now will get us back in order.

Not true, absolutely all the mentioned decisions were made under Sharp. The players listed were punted by Sturat with Sharp's blessing, he was justifying it in all the papers at the time.

The Eels, under new management following the election of a board led by premiership winner Steve Sharp in 2013, told the NRL of their salary cap concerns for 2014 that year and disclosed a number of breaches in a pre-season statutory declaration. However, their failure to then heed the warnings and the advice from League Central has seen them hit hard by penalties.

The club's second-tier issues last year centre on payments that continued to be made to players after they had left the club, a predicament that came to light last July.

Fairfax Media reported then that the Eels were shelling out more than $750,000 to players who had departed the club, which impacted both their top-tier and second-tier salary caps.

They included Reni Maitua (Canterbury), Jacob Loko (Canterbury) Daniel Harrison (Manly), Jordan Latham (Manly), Cheyse Blair (Manly), Jake Mullaney (Salford), Matt Ryan (Wakefield Trinity) and Brayden Wiliame (Manly)..

The decision to play players last year when advised not to is 100% down to BA, Sharp and Seward.

Also the players let go at the end of 2013 were done so under Sharp and Seward's watch.

Heads have got to roll over this embarrassment! Seward? Should Sharp stand down? He promised us good governance. I feel mislead : (

You're like a broken record Jake.

These blokes, whatever their faults, at least went to the NRL and reported their concerns re irregularities observed in players contracts and amounts claimed under the cap.

Is it too much to ask for a discussion that doesn't end in petty politics?

Maybe but only when people stop trying to deflect and start dealing with the actual facts.

It's easy really, we f##ked up, it happens, admit it, deal with it and move on. Has anyone on here or at the club done that?

Stop being negative mate, things are going great. Onwards and upwards, it's just injuries and bad luck. Wait till we get our players back, we have a coach who gets the best from his players, some great forward leadership at the club and an electrifying backline packed with skill in talent. I'm sick of all these negative nellie's talking our great and successful club down. Go Parra!!!!

Yep, totally agree with this. We are the best rugby league team in the world - daylight second.
How others in the RL community can't see this just does my head in.:crazy:

From the little I know, the cap was in. Mega mess from deals done prior to the current admin, players were released and promised ongoing payments, until Seward was appointed there was a rumour that the 2 previous coaches gave cap admin to an office girl. They only were concerned with the next season, and players( like Lomo) were therefore on massive back ended deals to ensure the near term was OK
Sounds a bit like Des at the Beagles
. I think the current admin have tried to make us aware that there were issues that needed time to resolve. Doubt we need to go off like headless chooks, this was in s sense what was predicted

Nah mate, haven't you read this forum? It's all BA, Seward, Hayne, Sharp, DA, etc fault!

TBH I've always wondered why so many people support Parramatta if all they do is exist in a state of perpetual bitching....

So I'm assuming that with the mess that was left from previous admins, the current admin has tried to offload players, ie; Maitua, Loko, Mullaney, Keating etc. They got other clubs to take them off our hands and absorb some of our cap but they couldn't offload enough for enough cash to get us back under the cap until this year.
So if Loko was on 350,000 with us, and the Bulldogs took him for 150,000 he would only count for 150,000 against our cap? If this is the case how can people say the current admin haven't done anything or are to blame?

This may well be a silly question, but why have we copped a conditional 4 point penalty if it was clear to everyone that it was the previous management at fault?. wouldn't the NRL just say, ok here's your fine but we're not docking you any points because it appears you already have your shit together...

I would presume purely because they have to be seen to be doing something. I think it's shit too, is anyone involved even still at the club? The blokes who f**ked it up get away with f**king it up while the blokes who are fixing things get punished.

My understanding is the four points will be docked if we don't get our shit sorted prior to February 2016, when we will be audited again to see if we are complying.

I would think that going to the NRL and saying 'there's a problem with our reporting of cap obligations' is pretty much doing that.

It sounds like the NRL can finally come to Parra and see how the club is run and mabe have some kind of power like they do at the Dragons, Tigers and so on.
