Parramatta paid a clothing provider at least $80,000 for goods the club has no record of receiving as officials investigate whether players - including former forward Daniel Harrison - were beneficiaries of the arrangement.
Fairfax Media can reveal invoices were paid to Zibara for promotional clothing for the Eels' 2014 study tour to Seattle, as well as game-day merchandise. However, the club has no record of the goods being received from the menswear outlet.

Leba Zibara of Zibara Clothing was part of an Eels delegation that visited a number of major sporting and business organisations including then-NFL champions Seattle Seahawks. The club invoiced Zibara an amount of around $13,000 but the club refused to confirm whether a payment was recorded.

The NRL was already concerned that Zibara was one of several companies providing goods or services to Parramatta at highly inflated fees that were above the market rate. Investigators are now trying to determine where the money went and whether players or officials pocketed some of the takings.
Fairfax Media has been told former player Harrison was paid about $15,000 as a sweetener to prematurely end his association with the club. Harrison was recruited from Manly for the 2013 season on a two-year deal and played seven games for the blue and golds that year. However, he returned for a second stint with the Sea Eagles the following season despite having a year to run on his Parramatta deal. There is no suggestion of wrongdoing by Harrison.
"The club is working closely with the NRL and will include these matters as part of the internal investigation," a Parramatta Eels spokesperson said.
Leba Zibara did not respond to calls on Tuesday.
Other companies that have been paid "overs" for their services include Green Options and Egroup Security.
There is no suggestion the companies have acted improperly, but the NRL is looking into why they were paid exorbitant fees.
"Any information which arises during the investigation period will be looked at by the integrity unit," an NRL spokesperson said.
The latest dramas are part of a seemingly endless string of catastrophes Parramatta's board and administration have brought upon the western franchise. The club is in serious danger of being sanctioned over a series of transgressions, most notably a third-party arrangement for Anthony Watmough that was not properly disclosed to head office. The club is facing the prospect of losing competition points, large fines and the sacking of staffers if it can be proven they breached the salary cap.
The pressure is mounting on chairman Steve Sharp and his deputy, Tom Issa, to stand down. However, it is understood the pair have no intention of doing so, raising the prospect of members passing a no-confidence or spill motion at the upcoming annual general meeting.
Eels players were trying their best to not get distracted by the constant off-field dramas ahead of their blockbuster clash with Canterbury at ANZ Stadium on Friday night.
"We don't talk about that stuff, honestly it's been fine," said hooker Isaac De Gois. "We're boys, we just talk about footy. The stuff in the papers, it's not our concern, our concern is to play footy and win games."
Fellow hooker Kaysa Pritchard added: "We just worry about ourselves, whatever happens on that side of the footy club [isn't our concern]. We just come to training and turn up, the boys have been pretty good."

A possible alternate solution is stop believeing (and repeating) the Telegraph agenda, and have the patience to let the NRL and current Board continue to work through the issues (and identify the real culprits) in good faith?

Well the SMH has another article, they must have an agenda too hey?? The whole world has an agenda against the Eels. Or could it possibly and simply be WE ARE f**kING MISMANAGED?

Funnily enough, the SMH is reporting on the issue, rather than purely/sensationally agitating for the current board to step down...

A bit different from your favourite rag and radio personaility!

What's the solution MITS? I've said kick these amateurs out and put an independent board. Nobody wants to see the club dragged through the mud. And we wouldn't be dragged through the mud if we were run professionally.

But there in lies the rub.

The NRL side is run by the Leagues club. The Board is the same. There have been previous groups that said they wanted to fix this but haven't now our Football club has been wound up. It doesn't exist, 67 years of tradition wiped away.

The NRL have no authority to change the board of the Leagues club.

The NRL's only option in that would be to strip the license from the Leagues club, create a separate club and grant it the license, and I personally don't think they want to go that far. Considering how well NRL run clubs like the Titans and the Knights are going.

Professionalism, It is what we all wanted, ask RAM he said we didn't have it in 2008, So we got a change in 2009, and then in 2013 we still didn't have it, even if those involved were business professionals. So now where do we sit. A group of people with the best intentions for the club, learning on the fly with little board room experience, Is it the best solution no, but looking at the other solutions not one of the pleases me.

I said better the devil you know in 2008/9 Election cycle. I now look back on pre 2008 as a golden era. We got rid of people who enabled an egocentric personality, with multiple people with Egocentric personalities, and it hasn't stopped since.

Ok, i will bite.

Do you spend your whole day looking for negative articles?

Seriously, just try and say or post something/anything remotely positive.

You make me miserable just by reading your posts.

Looks like the noose could be allegedly tightening around some of those companies that got "involved" with the Eels, during the 3P reign?

Don't forget 3P held onto control of (and allegedly ran into the ground) the Footy Club Board, for longer than they were represented on the Leagues Club Board...

I noticed a kid with "Zibara" Merch on at the game last week, Struck me as odd, I hadn't seen it before, a Lightning bolt with the word acorss it, on the Shoulder interrupting the stripes.

I actually don't like Hadley but keep deflecting and making up shit to keep yourself in the debate. Pretty scathing article on the SMH??! If proven we are up shot creek with loss of points / maybe players.

This board has got to stand down! It's looks as though it s only going to get worse.

Scathing...? As I said, it (allegedly) looks like the loop looks is (allegedly) closing in on companies that (allegedly) become involved with the Eels back under 3P's watch, or the watch of employees that 3P (allegedly) employed.

This board has got to stand down! It's looks as though it s only going to get worse.
Oops, there's that broken record again .

Maybe let the current Board and NRL get to the bottom of it. If things like this were the fault of the current lot (as opposed to 3P) then they will pay for their mistakes. Better to let the investigations go full term, rather than pull out at Redfern and have the current Board stand down and be replaced by yet another bunch of nuffies before the NRL gets its independent directors ready to join the fun.

now you're trying to blame Sharp for what Spags did
That's all Jake's done on here since the moment Sharp's team won the elections .

Remember how Jake started innocently enough with his regular "sack the board" interjections?

With all that's happened and hindsight I wish fitzy was not as arrogant. he actually thought that he owned parra. He made so many enemies. Maybe if he wasn't so anal, change would not have been needed.I know you're close with Overton, Just wondering why he let do what he wanted? Or am I wrong. Things could have been different.... It's been one disaster after another.

This will be read and I guess any response will depend if you are Power Ranger or a Nark :)

Just on 9 News with Neil Breen:

Breen: John, in 2014 was the Parramatta hierarchy guaranteeing 3rd party payments to players?
Boulos: No certainly not, and you see the full minutes from 2014, we sent the full minutes when we were notified of the story, to the NRL, and we'll continue to work with them on that, certainly the extracts that appear don't create the intent of the discussion, the intent of the discussion was to do things by the books, and as a club we need to continue doing things by the books.

Breen: Why were those players (former players like Hayne) paid once their careers had ended at Parra?
Boulos: We're investigating that atm, those payments were unknown to us.

* on subject of corporate hospitality tickets*
Boulos: we reserved corporate hospitality tickets for our commercial partners and anyone we were trying to fo business with.

Breen: Did that include 3rd Party providers?
Boulos: Yeah, no, its not uncommon to that we look to try and work with all prospective partners, we have many partners that request additional tickets. Now for Round 1, and throughout the year we sell out hospitality a lot, if we don't keep an allocation there to induce new business, we're certainly not working in the best interests of growing our business.

Breen: Will Parramatta lose points?
Boulos: I can't committ, we are working with the NRL, that's all I can advise. We know there are issues to do with governance over many years, and thats caused through instability, we understand that's been an issue for many years at the Parramatta Eels. What we've comitted to is reform.

Breen: Does Steve Sharp need to resign?
Boulos: Steve Sharp & the board are leading this change, and therefore should have the responsibility to see this out and we're confident that we can (Breen interrupts)

Breen: It shouldn't be that hard though should it? Keep under the cap, put a team on the field, and provide home fans with some hope.
Boulos: *laughs* absolutely, it shouldn't be that hard, but unfortunately we are weighted down by some issues of the past and we need to get through them and when we get through them, I'm very confident that as a club what we've got in place will come out of the other side very positively.

End
