Sam Tomkins: coming to an NRL club near you

It's not the longevity, it's the week in / week out physicality that would see a new player to the NRL fall away in form.

He's no different to anyone else - time will tell of course. If he rises above that, he truly is a great player.

That would be the intensity.

What people are saying is that he will struggle with the longevity of it, which is just not true.

He has been a rather embarrassing disappointment for the Warriors. I can forgive them for the first round loss to the Eels because the hype train picked up the Eels and ran with them. Against the Dragons at home though? Whole other story.

hes not worth half what they are paying him

and they paid a large transfer fee as well

serves him right, he was already talking about wanting to follow burgess into union and he hadnt achieved a thing in the nrl

welcome to the big time tomkins

Burgess took time to adjust as did TL for the Warriors last year, by round 6 I think you'll see much better performances from him and I wouldn't be surprised if he has the "c" next to his name by seasons end

I guess this just shows difference between ESL and NRL

How often have we seen players who we deemed not good enough killing it in UK

We have also seen aussie internationals go to the uk and be absolute flops. It works both ways, English forwards have been dominating the nrl for a number of years recently. Tomkins is a gun, he is playing behind a beaten pack at the moment with not much to offer in outside backs. He will be fine in our super human nrl.

English forwards can translate to our game. The job description of a forward is a lot simpler. If they have a big enough heart they'll do well.

Backs, and especially spine players have a much bigger task.

I always wondered if he knew what he was getting himself into signing for the Warriors...hope he enjoys playing behind a bunch of half-hearters who pick and choose when they want to try.

not to mention a coach who has to boast never winning a finals match from so many attempts.

He's certainly not lived up to the hype but he's not been bad either.

Tomkins is suffering from Hayne-syndrome. When playing for a shit team he'll be bagged relentlessly for not scoring and setting up 8 tries each game, claimed to be having bad games where his input is actually positive.

He looks a bit apprehensive and obviously needs to sort himself out under the high ball and get to grips with the NRL defensive line but apart from that, hype aside, he's shown glimpses of what he's capable of and will be a menace when the team clicks.

The thing with Tomkins is he's got the attitude and that drive to improve and win games, so he will improve as the season goes on and then he'll start terrorising you moherf**king bitch ass motherf**kers. Get to know, haters.
