Why does Lyon refuse to have the straight ball as part of his bag of tricks? That's usually the one bit of variety off spinners have and he hates it for some reason.

Clearly need someone that has *all* the toys in this team

 Australia is Kohli's bitch, and might well be for a few years to come

Without The Spoilt Brat we'd be batting again and the series would be 3 zip, he's as least made the series competitive. India need him.

He failed at the gabba. Hopefully the next time they tour the decks will have a little more to them. Still he has batted well.

lol, his variation was to get one to spin

sure

hasn't done Lyon any good, their test records are erily similar

Lyon debut in 2011, about the time we got our pace attack in order with a lot of depth. Haurie came into the side when we were regrouping, he did it tougher.

I think it just outlines the poor options we have had since Warne/McGill retires, rather than how good anyone has been since

Kohli has proven himself in the series and shut up the doubters.

Despite the fact he carries on like a fool I have really enjoyed watching him bat.

The crowd at SCG should realise shouting out abuse isn't going to favour us. It just makes Kohli perform better and is another thing that adds to his determination.

When Australia is under the pump a few of our players carry on with sledging and cross the line.

The fact Kohli plays with pretty much a bad team overseas I don't blame him for becoming more involved in banter. He's showing his passion even though it's annoying.

Watson's effort today shows that he is a valuable member of the team not matter how much people want to have a go at him.

He was very good with ball today. Our best bowler who kept troubling the batsmen.

He has indeed - fine player, and certainly lifts against you fellas

To be fair, Rahane and Vijay have been good too - I really feel for Pujara, some terrible decisions and then dropped for Raina/Sharma on a deck made for him.

Their batting has been fine overall, it's their bowling that's really cost them, and some strange selections - notably this test, and not playing Ashwin in the first

As opposed to NZ being everyone's bitch for several decades?

He has been batting well, would have been a different story if we'd have actually taken our chances against him. And he's still a whinging little turd.

Some people respond to sledging and it fires them up, Notch and The Spoilt Brat are pretty good examples.

Vaj has been hot and cold but that happens with openers, even Warner has made a duck this series. Generally he has been good.

Agree on their bowling and fielding but the Brats captaincy has not been good but I cant really blame him, he is inexperienced and tried things that didn't work and in some cases like today he has put up the white flag. Easy to bag him but its a pretty big job for a young bloke in his second test as skipper, he'll learn from this and he has had no real pace attack to work with.

Kohli averages 13 in England from 10 innings and yet he is scoring centuries over here with pure ease, just shows how utterly disgusting the pitches have been this summer in Australia.

Not sure if all this is troll, but there is a point in there somewhere.
The pitches are atrocious and its disappointing, not really a true test if centuries come so easily

Kohli has earned my respect.

Can bat. world class.

Likes to fight, I like this.

Will need to grow as a captain.

No Pujara was a bad call.

But the kid can play, I look forward to watching him.

The Australians really need to work on their catching. Smith dropped two today which has affected their stance in winning the game. Dropping Kholi on 62 was the turning point for mine.
