The Mole supports the notion that Bird will sign very soon. He has been pretty accurate of late. Beau sounds like a bloke who is torn.

There has been zero recent media about this, I am wondering whether it's just pure speculation.

Why would the tits release him and why would we sign him with the court case hanging over his head. We could be taking in a bloke who might be rubbed out.

Seems a unnecessary risk.

Knights Facebook page says they have granted Beau the release for the end of this season. No word on who he will sign with though.

I understand it has been formally announced he has signed for Parramatta next season? I saw that a couple of weeks ago...

Yes, sad what is happening.

But why couldn't we have arranged a player swap?

Why are we the "nice guys" who get shafted all the time?

I guess we need that money to upgrade every underperforming player remotely close to the end of their contract.

Who would we want from Parramatta?....... Doubt Watmough would come here

Parramatta Members received an email confirming Scott signed with the Eels.

I don't know why we signed him tbh.

It'll be a very unremarkable confirmation that we're back to the old days if we lose Scott, Gidley leaves... and no-one new comes to the club next year. They'll sit around around at the club and wax about how we've got everything we need from within... lots more pats on the back for a job well done in keeping the side packed with locals. An aging and increasingly stupid and blind supporter base will applaud and continue to say "there's always next week" every week.

Why would we possibly give Smith MORE money than he's currently getting? I just don't understand. Scott leaving shouldn't have any baring on Smiths value? What club out there is throwing big coin at a 35 year old Smith? f**king lunatics in charge of our cap.

Midley just mentioned on NBN that focus now will be on Snowden, Smith and Mamo.
Kidley I reckon will be in ESL next year with Mamo coming through.
All tends to put an end to any hope of getting a new fwd in.

I'm at the stage where I'm more concerned about getting Gidley out than I am getting anyone else in. If the club let him go it may give me a tiny bit of reassurance that they know what they're doing. If he's retained though...

He'd have to be long odds to be retained. Yeah, we're dumb... but we surely can't be that dumb?

Surely this makes Greg Bird - for better or for worse - even more essential to sign for next year.

We need a hard head in the pack - Smith can't play forever, the Sims boys aren't smart enough to control themselves. He might be a grub and a dickhead, but he is exactly what we need.

We've already said we aren't chasing Bird but who knows. We always seem to keep our recruitment close to our chests. For that very reason I haven't given up complete hope that we might make a signing even if it looks like we're not entering the market.
