This is the issue.

I do hate reading about people getting busted snorting cocaine though. I've never taken it and I don't want too but geez it's clearly everywhere and Australia spends a shit load on it.

I don't think it's my business and I have no interest in stopping people taking it if they can do it safely.
I get my kicks from my family. Now that my kids have flown the coup it's a lot cheaper now ;)

Nutz, I have just placed Bula in my backlines above because I think he could make a go of it. He was a centre in his school & junior days with that Walsh fella at fullback. Turuva's preferred position is fullback.

So it's a pre-season where even more players are pulling their fingers out to impress the coach.

Fullback - Bula, Tito & Mason
Wing - Skelton, Staines, Laulilii, Tito, Lobb, Alaimalo and anyone else,
Centre - Olam, Faataape, To'a, Saukuru, and anyone else

We need forwards.
Agree OT. I wasn't being disrespectful, I was just highlighting the abundance of halves, or is it half's;)
You mentioned the centres.
Having played all my footy as a centre I can say that if a back is short on form, throw him in the centres as you can't hide there. You will find your running game and work on your D.
If Bula didn't need surgery it would have been a valuable experiment putting him in the centres for a couple of games, if not just for flexibility of the squad alone.

We need forwards.

MIddles:-
Klemmer
Pole
Twal
Miller
Matamua
Kit Laulilii
Chris Faagutu
Tim Johannssen
Seyfarth

We need to resign Sione Fainu who I reckon has been awesome.

Edge
Samuela Fainu
Brandon Tumeth
Bateman

It's pretty weak. We really f**ked up resigning Doueihi because he takes up a roster spot. We need to piss some players as well.

Plus we have Sullivan and Naden in our top 30.

I like the way we are building but the club needs to do something about our forwards. Our edge forwards look terrible. We don't have a single middle who can dent the line like Stef. We should have also kept Papalli as a middle forward.

Tiger the way I see it is we need 2 hard nosed props and we need them now.
With the war chest that we have I'd be signing Reagan Campbell-Gillard and Daniel Saifiti on a 2 year deal with a further 1 year mutual agreement.
They are ready to go. I know they are getting on but they have 2 years left in them imo.
During this period you would hope Miller grows an athletic body and has had more experience in the NRL to take over as one of our middles.
There would have to be some juggling with contracts but money talks.
Negatives are that RCG's manager said thanks but no thanks.
Also players like RCG and Saifiti would want to have their final years at a club that has the best chance of succeeding.
However the Tigers are starting to gain more attraction with their spine..Buli, Galvin, Luai and Api.

We need props but I couldn't sign these two for that long. I honestly think we need a short term deal. I wish we'd kept Papalli. I reckon he'll be really good at Penrith next year.

I'm afraid 2 years is the least that players would sign for. Those two are genuine middles.
Hunt is available but my only reservations with him is he's been in and out with injuries.
I don't know of any others do you?

I’m hearing Miller & Kit L are on the outer & are to be discarded

I know we say it every year, but it really does feel like ‘25 maybe the start of something special.
I’m not expecting top 6, more like top 10.
We have some good to very good players coming.
We have some good to very good juniors in our ranks.
Just need the coaches to deliver.
The trouble is, it’s been so f**king long, that it’s just hard to believe it could be the start.
It’s going to be a long off season.

It's going to be an off season of even higher hopes that usual. The question is how long into season 25 before we start talking about next season.

I think good progress next year will be to win 10+ games, with a view to finals 2026. We need to turn around our defence though, we’re starting to turn our attack around. Defence is key now

I agree but I think attack is harder to get right than defense. If we can start scoring points we can improve significantly.

We worked on our defence all off season and have had a continued focus on it all year.
Our results are the second worst in the clubs history.
The trainers and coaches looking after the defence don’t know what they are doing.

So true. I think all of our players are capable of good D but they just have too many brain farts. I to put it down to coaching. It's a team sport and players not only have to do their bit, they also need to support their mates.
Players need to have confidence in their teammates on the inside that they will be there. Otherwise they second guess themselves and make poor decisions.
Inglis is apparently helping Bula at fullback. Since he has been involved I believe Bula's involvement especially in cover defending has dropped off....probably just a coincidence but it's starting to be a problem. Poor cover defense happened at least twice against Manly resulting in tries.
Ask yourself this....when you see the opposition have a backline attacking raids across the park, how confident are you that we can stop them scoring in the corner????

I like the fact that Benji has Lachlan Galvin roaming a bit. It's a darn pity he,To'a, Bula and Olam haven't played a lot together this year.
Luai will spend a lot of his attack on the left linking up with Samuela Fainu just like Lachlan has been doing. However all three would be devastating in attack. One the right side I suspect Lachlan to team up with To'a with Bula chiming in.
Does anyone know what side Slelton plays on? His size might help us get off our line better.
If Bird does arrive he could be that ball playing lock with block plays and crash balls to someone cutting back on the angle. Throw Api in there ensuring the markers are always engaged. I'm hoping Api's passing improves from dummy half as it's been shocking lately..he may be carrying an injury.
It looks good. BUT our backline is constantly chopping and changing and we need to have these combos sorted out in preseason.
Forwards wise is improving every game. The Fainu brothers are great. Latu would make a great number 9, an opinion not shared by many but his passing game is awesome and he can defend...he's tough. Put it this way...for me I'd rather Latu on the bench instead of DaSilva. Taylan is still developing imo.

Apparently Inglis is only providing support to Bula on a personal level and not his footy.

This will mean that:

1. Bula will probably be charged with domestic violence in the not too distant future
2. Next time we go to Brisbane for magic round he'll disappear for a 3 day bender.
3. He'll be part of a salary cap scandal.
