Sharks cap superthread - latest: NRL clears Flanagan to assistant coach from 2020

All that I am saying is that the crime of domestic violence is far greater than breaching NRL rules of contact yet the NRL, I am sure, will rule on the domestic violence cases far more softly.

My personal opinion on Flano is that he should be outted, he broke the rules and now its time to pay for them.
Yes the crime of domestic violence is far greater, that is why the police and the courts are dealing with the domestic violence and the NRL are dealing with Flanno and his cheating ways. The players are facing possible imprisonment and Flanno is facing losing his job. Big difference there!

But really they should be 2 seperate discussions and people shouldn't be using violence against women to imply "hey what we did isn't so bad because these other people hit women". Own your mistakes, cop the punishment and move on.

Ha
That is great in theory.
Life doesn’t work like that though.
People will always compare stuff like this.

Of course you don't. Me personally i'm interested in the detail. Was his communication in relation to planning for 2015 or was he actively trying to influence 2014.

I think based on his arrogance and stupidity alone of defying the rules around his ban he deserves punishment. Irrespective of aforementioned query on details.

I'm not so sure i agree with a hefty and long punishment however. Not adhering correctly to punishment is as previously mentioned arrogant and stupid beyond measure, but by all means it's not really up there on my list of offences that warrant lengthy punishments. Particularly with what goes on in the game that gets hit with the feather duster.

I think there are more likely 2 possible driving factors around his punishment, that would be either that there is more to come with his involvement in any salary cap related findings. If this is indeed correct, i personally would have preferred the salary cap findings released first and all information related to a persons involvement out in the open before any punishment handed out, i think that's the ideal scenario.

Or it's really making up for lost opportunity from the ASADA involvement, where i'm 100% sure there are so many unknown events/facts that will never surface publicly and that the view from NRL HQ would be that he got off extremely lightly.

Either way, will be interested in the detail.

To cut a long story short, is the reason why Essendon were f**ked over and Cronulla weren't was because Essendon as a professional club kept records whereas the Sharks did not keep records?

Yes but it doesn't mean I am wrong when I do not reply to those comparisons and stick to the topic at hand which is the Sharks cheating again.

Barry Russell reminds me of the Jim Carrey character in "Liar Liar". He cannot help but tell the truth even though it is f**king up his club. Same hilarious results as the movie too

Not sure about that, honestly hope a few tell all books come out one day, because i'd really like to know the truth of the whole thing.

You’re not wrong but either are people comparing the severity of penalties in rugby league.
It is a running joke.
One rule for one club and another rule for another club.

Your club has been plagued with bad management since day one in one way or the other. If a Sharks insider released a tell all book about the sharks last ten years or so, I'd buy it on release day.

Sharks groupies defend Serial wankers Fifita and Gallen so of course they're going to defend superjuice Shane.

Leave the club on the other hand....and you're a dickhead they never rated anyway

My recent posts come from someone claiming I missed the point because I didn't respond to their comparisons. I didn't miss the point, I didn't reply to it because I believe it is irrelevant to the discussion. I agree compare all you like, just don't try to use it as a defense to my point or be upset when I ignore it.

Flanagan premierships = 1
Raiders premierships and GF’s in the last 24 years = Zero

Gallen is doing one.

Said it so yesterday.
While he'd know the full story of the Sharks over the last ten years, I doubt we'd get the truth from him as he arguably gained from whatever happened more than anybody else. I think the Flanno book would be a better buy myself if he wants to shore up a retirement nest egg...lol

Tbh the majority of Sharks supporters believe he should be punished.

But keep on sprouting to everyone how we are all in support of him, that's cool.
