You talk a heap of sense but if they are seriously considering Dean Young, the whole board needs to resign...now.
That would reduce our club to a joke because there are 2 glaring problems with appointing Dean Young.
1. His has a worse CV than McGregor had when he was appointed and it would herald in a 3rd rookie appointment in a row since Bennett.
2. The head coach that he is serving his apprenticeship under is Paul McGregor who is one of the worse coaches in the competition. What sort of mentorship can McGregor seriously offer Young??
If the Old Boy clan has such an iron clad grip on such critical decisions that the club makes, even after the change of ownership, then the future looks bleak.
I honestly hope you're wrong and that the Dean Young scenario is not already a back room done deal.

I agree with everything you have said but it is what it is and at no time in the past has the best interest of SGI been the dominant reason for decisions made regarding job appointments. It has been more factional deals that have dictated these decisions.

Off season to end off seasons!
-Coach swaps and sackings
-Players acting up like idiots
-Players on physical assault charges
-Players on sexual assault charges
-Player release and swapping clubs
-Salary cap dramas
-Media anti NRL bias
-Boardroom dramas
-Fanciful TPA numbers
I don’t want to be an alarmist but is this the perfect storm?
Beattie, Greenburg & Co all doing a 1st class job.
They obviously subscribe to the "any press is good press" theory.
I can see those pair of idiots now.
"Wow Pete we have all the front & back page news and we are starving tall he other codes of any media at all"
"Great stuff Todd keep up the good work, by the way I've got to go out to an Australia day celebration where Captain Cook landed, what's the name of that club out that way because I haven't got a bloody clue?"

Up front money went straight to paying out the massive debt the club had. Most of the dollars come in from sales of the stage now being built, the retail area, hotel etc.

They seriously need fresh heads with no ties to outside influence to get back on track.

Sounds like little brother has caught the illness that has afflicted our club for yonks.

Miller , can't really stand the hate by some here for the Sharkies. My daughter & wife are Sharkies fans so i get to see a lot of their games ( they are still getting over that last 2 minutes in the GF ! ) Mind you you have a very good core of very loyal fans. Always remember that night ( Monday ? ) you guys played in 5 deg temp and pissing down. The bloke in the scuba gear was not only hilarious but probably the warmest there !

Do they really think Flanno still wont be consulted by someone for his advice this year...via skype may be a better option than texting, especially if they put the rookies in to take over. it will happen at some stage especially if Flanno tells the NRL to get knicked about coming back to coach. Cant ban him from who he talks to.

I would take Flanno as our coach. I think he has done very well with Cronulla. I also think he has recruited very well too. He is an ex Saints player too.
