This is a real test for Irvines leadership now.
They need to make a public statement on a united front to dispel the rumours of Sticky going to the Broncos & the club approaching Brown. Even if they are the previous boards actions, they need to clarify the situation for the players & fans minds. Gallen has already alluded to it in the press.
A statement from Brown is required too.

All that is playing out now is a game of cards, as the persons involved know what the deal is, and what will unfold, it's just a matter of how and when they choose to let it all play out. Suggestions that one has done this and the other isn't impressed is all garbage, each knows what's going on and what will happen, have done so for months and nothing was done behind anyones back.

The Sharks management wish Stuart to finish his obligations for this season, and don't wish a sh*te fight that might lead to him spitting the dummy, it won't cost them any more or less as he will be paid for this yr either way, they just don't want the disruptions and negativity. Stuart wants to somehow save face, losing most weeks doesn't make that any easier.

Why would Brown comment. He's the 3rd player in the game, no need for him to say a word nor get involved until required. Don't you think the media aren't already climbing all over him, he's got nothing to say as he doesn't wish to fan anything further. He did the right thing and spoke directly to Stuart months ago, before this all begun to play out, clearing his then discussions toward the coaching role, and he'll have nothing more to say until its time for his appointment for 2011 is ready to be announced.

I think Irvine and his board should be comended, and supported. They've decided to bite the bullet, clearly not happy with a hell of a lot of what has gone on before them and somewhere in the middle of all of that is Stuart. They wish to move on, and have done something about it, and hopefully its a positive move for all concerned most importantly the clubs on field success.

Why do some people here think Brown would do a better job than Stuart??
He wasn't exactly successful in the NRL with possibly the best squad on paper at the time.

Irvine's already done that reef:

You can't get clearer than this:
Cronulla chairman Damian Irvine says rumours he is targeting Nathan Brown as a replacement for coach Ricky Stuart are pure fantasy.
''The talk among some people down here is that I'm a close mate of Nathan Brown's and that I want to get him in here for Ricky,'' Irvine said yesterday. ''I don't know how they came up with that, because I don't even know the guy. I've never met him.
''This stuff is so far out of left field, so far off the mark, that it's ridiculous. It could be funny if it was just a throwaway line from someone, but the thing that concerns me is that it's people in the area who are saying it. I don't know how it started, but it's totally misleading, and I can categorically deny it.''

I think your information is garbage. The categorical denial from a club CEO shows that it is rubbish. Nobody in a political position would lie to such an extent. There is no positioning in his words. No manipulation of the message. It is a clear denial that he does not even know the guy or has ever spoken to him or has anybody on behalf of him.

The Sharks management wish Stuart to finish his obligations for this season, and don't wish a sh*te fight that might lead to him spitting the dummy, it won't cost them any more or less as he will be paid for this yr either way, they just don't want the disruptions and negativity. What a load of rubbish.

Why would Brown comment.
because a decent journalist would ask him. He has 3 options. He has spoken to Irvine, he hasn't spoken to irvine or no comment. He could also give his idea of where the rumour came from, as I do believe he was approached. I am sure there are powers working against Irvine & Stuart. The old divide & conquer routine.

He's the 3rd player in the game, no need for him to say a word nor get involved until required. Don't you think the media aren't already climbing all over him, he's got nothing to say as he doesn't wish to fan anything further. You know all this because your friend told you right? Also, you said hes got nothing to say. Where is the link to the article where he had nothing to say. In this case, nothing to say is actually saying something. There is no article.

What a load of absolute garbage.

A three year old could do a better job than Stupid, and most of the players know it.

Well to start, at least better then 15th, and after this year dead last, not much to beat, and as long as Brown dosent have the team lose 13 straight

I get it, you hate Ricky Stuart. But you couldn't even answer the question. Your comments are that of a 3 year old and clearly know very little about rugby league.

Bringing up the 13 straight loses is just stupid. It was three straight loses and we are in no different position than 2 of premiership favourites, Eels and Bulldogs.

Why do you think we would have done any differently with another coach?
The coach is not the one giving away penalties, missing tackles and dropping balls.

RG, have a look how we play it hasnt changed since 2007, the game has got faster over the ruck since 2 refs Ricky has not changed his game, he has failed to develop a half back, and now he signs Tim Smith, because he has no other option.

The club has gone backwards, and it gets worse every week
