Sharks rule out safe haven if Carney and Roosters part ways

SO Fiz....is that like a TV Evangelist "I BELIEVE"....or...an I've heard something, sort of confirmation, "I believe"?

Despite what has been reported, there are a few clubs that are keen on his services.

He has been offered over $250k per season for one club without any clauses whatsoever.

If in fact he does come to Cronulla the Administration deserve a huge wrap for getting him.

The "No one wants Todd Carney" line simply isn't true.

I am less confident than I was 3 days ago, however, unlike the Title Thread, we are definately talking to him and in with a shot of his services.

Thankfully to this point, no one really know what is happening and there hasn't been any leaks.

Well, if there are more than one club clammering for his services, we should set ourselves for disappointment.

It's the Sharks way....

Good to see that all the NRL clubs are rock solid on this one.

Just like the other ones.

It's all about keeping the Lifeline manufacturing business alive. They need our collective NRL support.

Who else needs a NRL club lifeline. Ive got 20 of them in the shed. Ones we Sharkies didn't use over the last few years.

Well the Broncos have the Thourobreds, the titans build houses, And Im now offering my services as the BatteredFlake for the Sharks. As an under the table ,inducement to sign Carney without going over the cap, Ill brush the cobwebs off my wallet and make the following offer:
If Carney Plays for Sharks and helps win the 2012 Grand Final I will Buy him a Keg of the Beer of his Choice, after the Grand final.

Hi Buzz,
Not related to the blog but is Carney a lost cause? Would you really want him at the sharks? I’m petrified that there is supposed interest in him from Dogs, tell me it’s a dodgy rumour.

I’d like to see him find a club that signs him on the proviso he puts in a good off-season and behaves himself. If he’s prepared to do the hard work over summer, I’d like to see him at the Sharks. All his recent incidents have not involved breaking the law. He’s just a gibberer on the grog.

An update on this.

Carney is in Thailand considering his options. He has had offers from us, Penrith, Titans and Souths. Im led to believe that our offer is the biggest, but is heavily incentive based. Our base offer is comparably low.

If he is fair dinkum about playing well, he will come to us.

If he wants an easy pay cheque, he will go to one Souths or Penrith.

We should therefore be happy with either outcome. If he signs elsewhere, it is for dubious reasons.
