Are you in favour of having our 'Christian' culture replaced by some other culture.

What "Christian" culture? Besides the fact most people celebrate Christmas (lunch with family or a bbq on the beach) and we get public holidays at Easter, we really don't live in a Christian culture. Go to the US or Italy if you want a country heavily influenced by Christianity.

Yes, like Ms Greensill;

http://www.abc.net.au/news/2015-06-...ous-imprisonment-must-be-investigated/6528122

The cops arrested her, charged her, prosecuted the case...the jury convicted her, and the judge sentenced her-giving her a lecture in the process about how she'd ruined the "victims'" lives.

Her accusers said they were 8 yrs old at the time of the alleged offences.

That's our great justice system in action.
If the cops charge you with a crime, some crimes, many crimes...best of luck to you...you'll need it.

Oh well, the defense counsel said that she was very innocent, she must be innocent...
What significance does the age of the accused have to do with it? If anything, I'd argue children are less likely to concoct evidence (at least without prompting) and are more credible witnesses.

I don't get what you're doing here... People have been falsely convicted since god knows when, this isn't a recent phenomenon. Pulling out some stand alone case examples isn't going to persuade anyone differently. Unfortunately some people will always slip through the cracks, although I'll think you'll find it's much easier to get off if you're guilty than be falsely imprisoned. This is the way our justice system is structured.

It's virtually impossible to convict a person of certain crimes under some circumstances (sexual assault in a he said she said situation) Darcy mate you are talking shit.

The odds of an 8 year old having the ability to have intercourse are low, non-consensual intercourse is even lower. They weren't 8 year olds when the story was put to police.

Agree with all of this 100%

Data from New South Wales indicated that 74% of alleged offenders in sex offence cases against an adult that proceed to trial in the Higher Courts, are acquitted of all charges (Fitzgerald, 2006). For sex offences alleged against a child, the acquittal rate is slightly lower at 61%. In comparison, the acquittal rate across all offences is 30%. Wundersitz (2003) found similar results with regards to sex offences against children in South Australia.

And that was a particularly egregious miscarriage of justice. They do happen. Sometimes under ludicrous circumstances but at the end of the day more guilty people walk than innocent people get convicted and that's the way it should be. I find it difficult to believe that SKD is going to be convicted. I doubt there is much in the way of evidence. That doesn't mean he didn't do it but it means we should treat him like he didn't.

They did elect a porn star to parliament in the 80's over there. Was that the influence of christianity at work there? Second thoughts, maybe it was.

The opposite of Islam is not Christianity. A secular society is fine. If we could rid it of all religion that would be even better.
