Does your brain work when you think and type?

Gallop wasn't suspended by the governing body on no evidence or any of the associated trauma that comes from being accused of a crime, so of course Gallop has "gotten on with his life..." He had nothing to stop him from getting on with his life you moron.

Yep...and theres nothing to stop B Stewart moving on, getting over it, letting it go.
Lifes too short to hold grudges...the f**kwit is only hurting himself.
Old saying goes ''cop it on the chin''...stewart could learn something

This does not mean someone is innocent . How can the judge know that , unless the judge was there at the scene. it means the evidence for the case was weak ,and trial would be a waste of time , because he said versus she said.

I said this 5 pages ago and it got moderated

No. The ones who should apologise are the police and DPP for bringing such as shit case to court. If they had they had done some proper work then we'd either know the truth or it wouldn't have gone to court and then Stewart may have had some reason to whinge for however many f*cking years about being suspended for being drunk and/or Gallop would have apologised

Well it looks like the Telstra CEO voted yes on this poll then, since he was nodding his head in agreement to whatever Stewart said.

C'mon, the papers are filth, wait until we actually find out what was said before everyone goes off half-cocked.

Commission backs Gallop over GF affair

Steve Jancetic AAP Tue, Oct 04, 2011 - 6:56 PM

Incoming NRL commission chairman John Grant has backed chief executive David Gallop's handling of the tense post-grand final exchanges with Manly's Stewart brothers.

Gallop and both Glenn and Brett Stewart took part in prolonged discussions as they shook hands during the presentation ceremony after Manly's 24-12 grand final win on Sunday.

It was their first meeting with the NRL boss since Brett was slapped with a four-game ban at the start of the 2009season for drunken behaviour at the club's season launch.

While none of the involved parties have revealed what was said, there is speculation Brett demanded an apology from Gallop for what he believed was unjust punishment.

It was the start of a horror two-year period in which Brett was forced to defend a sexual assault charge while a serious knee injury also threatened his playing future.

While he was reluctant to enter into the debate, Grant - in response to a number of interview requests - backed Gallop's actions.

"The commission fully supports the dignified manner in which NRL CEO David Gallop conducted himself during the grand final day presentation and in the days that have followed," Grant said.

"There are clearly appropriate and inappropriate times to raise issues of conflict, just as there is a responsibility on club administrators to provide leadership to their personnel.

"The commission is yet to assume stewardship of the game, but it will continue to ensure players and clubs recognise the importance of protecting the image of rugby league."

Speaking after the grand final, Glenn Stewart suggested that he and his brother were ready to move on from the feud.

"It's very special, probably the final chapter and everything's back to where it was and moving on and normal life's good and footy's going well so I can't complain," he said on Sunday night.

Grant said he would not make any further comment on the matter, leaving open the question of whether the two parties would be brought together for conciliatory discussions ahead of next season.

High quality journalism. Nothing but a comment about speculation and an incorrect score for good measure.

Just let sleeping dogs lie. Why try to console the matter between both parties...in time, they will both get over it.

You are thick.

How did Brett bring the game into disrepute?

He was drunk ?

Drinking is a crime ?

Just ask Todd Carney:

But wait, do you genuinely think that Stewart deserves an apology from Gallop for doing what was right by the organisation he runs at the time ?

I would probably be the first person to say Gallop is a f**kwit but, he did what he thought was right at the time; he did what he had to do to protect the image of the game and distance Brett stewart from RL.
