No easy options but Mary can only inflict more pain and even uglier results.

The U20's looked ordinary early in the season but are now playing stylish football under Head's coaching.

Obviously he has instilled a good culture into the squad.

Not suggesting it is a long term fix but it has to be better than what we have and hopefully will inject some much needed confidence into the 1st grade squad.
I don't think we can risk another rookie in-house coach after Price and now Mary.
If we aren't going to sign a proven, experienced coach we may as well just leave Mary there and just accept the losses each week.
We will inevitably start losing our better players if we don't bring in a decent coach soon.

It's terrible isn't it , you want the side to do well but know it cant with this bloke getting worse and making very strange decisions ( and non decisions ) so part of you hopes that we don't make the 8 so he gets the flick. I believe his KPI should insist on improvement so just making the 8 shouldn't cut it.

If they make the top 8 which they won't he should still get the sack.

He really is way out of his depth and it shows its like the comedy hour at the club.

-100 plus for and against is pathetic.

You know, sad but true, during a game when the Dragons cannot win, I hope the opposition wins by a large margin so that Mary will no longer be in charge.
Guilty my honour!

I think he will see out his contract.

As long as Doust and co have control things won't change.

If its true and Doust didn't want Mary how the f**k did he get over ruled.

Illawarra Mafia is a load of bollocks.

It would have to be a even split if both sides of the JV voted so some one from the Dragons side must have thought Mary was a good candidate.

Either way the entire board are to blame.

So it makes you think some one on the board for the Dragons doesn't think much of what Doust thinks.

Agree 100%

Top 4 should be the standard
Before top 4 was the standard, winning the premiership was the only yardstick to measure a successful season.

The only exception to this was when we were runners-up in 1996, but only because it was during the SL war and there was a real spirit in the club that year.

A few old Saints Dragons players have made that statement to me that Illawarra run the show.
That's why.

If that is true then the Dragons are more piss weak then i could have ever thought.

Aren't they supposed to be the bigger partner in the merger.

So by that, you think the Dragons are 'St George' and not 'St George-Illawarra'...?

And you refer to Saints as "they"?

If it has to be a new coach, would love to see Tony Smith there are simply no other viable options out there that I think would do much better, Toovey pass, Cleary possibly....when you have coaches like Trent Barrett, Taylor and Mc Fadden, you know that coaching stocks aren't that strong....The truth is anybody can coach the Broncos and Cowboys successfully with their playing roster. Anybody could have coached Souths and Roosters 2013/2014 version, look how they come back to the field with less star players...

If Mary bombs out this year I hope we get a top line coach and not just anybody and no more rookies....

Yes Willow it was the standard. We were always in contention chasing the premiership.

1996 was a special year. Remember clearly the home games at Kogarah with the ground announcer welcoming supporters who had come from the bush, interstate and others from Britain and the United States. Supporters were booking their holidays on the basis that we were going to play finals football.

It was a year where as supporters there was a "call to arms" to support and protect the club from possible extinction.
