No to Dugan.

Let's wait for Ferguson to muck it up and take him. We need a centre.

Oh, and hi everyone.
Long time reader, first time poster.
Posting something like Ferguson to the Dragons won't win you fans here.
Welcome

Just on a side note - anyone have any idea of what the Dragons are playing with dollar wise? How far under the cap are we?

We have also been said to have expressed interest in Frank Pritchard (on zerotackle) and with Todd Carney (Illawarra Mercury) with speculation that Carney AND Flanagan could be heading to Wollongong next year...

Unfortunately, we weren't mentioned to have expressed interest in Ben Hunt...

Seriously, are we actually looking at these players or does the media just assume we are when a player is off contract.

Actually Flannagan does make a little sense funnily enough. An ex Dragons junior from Penshurst RSL who came through the Dragons ranks to play grade. But having said that, I'd prefer he didn't come tbh. Frank Pritchard, well the Dragons were interested in him years ago, but another past his use by date. And Carney??? I'll leave that one for you to judge, but again, no thanks unless he comes at a cheap price. Then we should consider.

The Pritchard thing has been knocked on the head by Parra, they are also linked to every player by the media.
Notice the Mercury article said that Dugan may play at 5/8th if he comes to the Dragons.

just in half an hour ago..

St George Illawarra veteran Matt Cooper hopes sacked Canberra star Josh Dugan isn't lost to the NRL, saying the Dragons would happily take the troubled fullback.

The Raiders board terminated Dugan's contract on Thursday following a number of breaches of team policy - which were believed to be sparked by a breakdown in his relationship with coach David Furner.

The former NSW Origin representative has been linked with a number of clubs including the Dragons, Brisbane, Gold Coast and Penrith.

There is still no word on whether the NRL will allow him to sign with a rival club, with the 22-year-old also believed to be eyeing a move to French rugby union.

Speaking before he had become aware of Dugan's sacking earlier on Thursday, Cooper hoped Dugan could sort out his differences with the Raiders, but added that he would be welcomed at the Dragons should he become available.

"He's a quality player, he's shown in the past how good he is," Cooper said.

"We need players like that back in the game, it's a shame for him to be out of the game.

"If he ends up coming to the Dragons then so be it - we'd have him that's for sure."

Despite the interest in Dugan, Cooper said the Dragons were more than happy with their new No.1 Gerard Beale, who impressed against Melbourne last weekend in his first game for the club.

The Dragons were one of a number of clubs that pursued Dugan before he re-signed with the Raiders in February 2012.

The thing is:
a) Beale seemed REALLY good last weekend at fullback, I know he quoted that playing #1 was his reason for leaving Brisbane, and that it was probably just a cover-story, but if its true...
b) Cummins/Quinlan seem like our natural next fullback options?

Unless Dugen really is looking to play 5/8, but that seemed to go terribly when he tried it for Canberra last year?

A player like Dugan would be very good for us right now, a rare talent provided he comes to play footy and not muck up. We should snap him right up. Beale was excellent last week so 5/8 or centre would be the go.

We need talent and have had trouble signing it. It needs to change and it needs to start somewhere. The Dragons have lots of great club men and strong juniors but we are desperately short of game breakers. Dugan is one. I'd take him for sure.

He's young. He can change. And this is a mighty big rocket up his arse. The Dragons rarely if ever misbehave and it's because of our strong culture. It is far more likely that Dugan would be absorbed into the culture than change the culture. I see small risk and big reward. Sign him.

Dugan is a pea heart, when your own teammates question your integrity and honesty on the field during a match, that says it all, he has never been a good week to week performer, he doesn't have the mental aptitude and strength to successfully play NRL. The kid has his demons and refuses to acknowledge he has a problem, how can you begin to help someone who laughs in your face and than treats you like the joke. Lost cause!

Have to disagree with you big man.... Again... But we shouldn't be concerned what Souths supporters think, that's something they struggle to do...

Dugan has been a very good player and has had one or two off games and he is clearly unhappy where he is right now, he would fit in well with the boys here and would be an asset to our roster..
