That's what I did today, I made her hold 2 beers and a pie while I searched for my ticket.
I also noticed that security also stopped a person bringing a camera in during there bag searches. Have cameras always been banned?

I've heard of some major stadiums that ban cameras with detachable lenses.

I took my slr today. There is no way I would have copped being told I couldnt take it in

And what would you do if they refused you entry?

I'll get on to the other stuff later,.

I'd ask to see a supervisor and find out why. After all, the guys at the gate are just doing what they're told.

Then if still refused entry, take my camera home, go back to the game and take it up with the trust and specifically Luke Coleman tomorrow morning.

I've taken my camera in plenty of times, and I know plenty of others who have, so it would seem very, very odd that someone else was apparantley prevented from doing so.

Honestly, if they're refusing entry to people who have a camera then that is just appalling. Wherever that directive has come from.

After the inconvenience last week I had a look around, and the gates between the terrace and the stand are were both open today, all game. There was a sign at one saying "Bar" with an arrow, so one can only assume it is an attempted short cut to avoid bar congestion?

Whatever the reason it's a silly system. Just put more people working behind each bar ffs, problem solved and no need for this silly show your ticket 4 times nonsense! Personally, I'm not patronising the ground catering (including the bar) at all until they fix this... easier and cheaper to bring sandwiches and water in from home.

But for those who do need to buy, I have an idea - civil disobedience... Next time you are irritated at being stopped on your way back to your seat with your hands full, and the attendant asks for your ticket yet again, simply get them to hold all of your beers, food etc while you reach into your wallet to retrieve your ticket. While you are doing this at least 10 people should be able to go up the steps with the attendant being powerless to stop them.

Maybe only then when the attendants report to their bosses how useless and annoying this policy is in practice, will they think about going back to how it was last year, with internal gates closed and no inconvenience to long term members.

Why not take a vibrator and turn it on in your pocket or undies and with both hands full of drinks and food tell them to reach into your pockets to get your tickets/wallet etc and make sure to give them a look in the eye with a satisfactory smile during their efforts. This could be the method that stops this madness very very fast..

Fair enough, that's what I'd do too, but I wouldn't be happy about it.

Absolutely agree.

I am just going to add something after today's game.

We all spoke about how staff are now asking for tickets, after we go through the gates.

Now at the Cronin Stand I was furious and Im sure other people will agree. The fact that they stop you while approaching the stairs and ask for tickets, and again 3-4 times later when you've got 4 bottles of coke and water in your hands.

Dont they realise that once you go through the gates to say the Cronin Stand, you have definately got a seat in that area, you can get in anywhere else.

What got me fired up was when there a group of 10 year old kids just bought ice cream wasn't allowed to go up cause they didnt have their tickets on them and still wasnt allowed up even when they told them that their parents have got their tickets and sitting in Bay 23. They were upset and worried.

So I was happy Parramatta won, but unfortunately stuff like this can ruin people's afternoon.

That's a horrible way to treat the kids. If they were mine I would have blown up deluxe!

I thought the MCG was one of those grounds where they had the rule....I had a look on their website and couldnt see it. Though I'm sure I've seen it before. Wherever that rule is, I think it's just heavy handed - and if it's at Parramatta then TBH, I think the stadium are getting delusions of granduer.

It's OK for me. I can home and back.

Imagine, if say, it's H flying over from Adelaide??

I just visited the Stadiums website to check their T&C....but it's down.

Also, I think the crowd is worth nothing today.

15,000?

Very disappointing.

Considering we have what, 7k STH now, that means only 8k other people came to watch manly and parra on a fine sunday arvo.

Are all these issues at Parramatta Stadium putting people off?

edit:

win stadium has the rule

Professional cameras with a zoom or detachable lens are also not permitted.

Laughable to suggest people would stay home because of the issues with the Stadium Trust.

Headingley (Leeds Rhinos) has the camera rule too. I was approached to stop taking photos there of Tonga v Samoa and England v France double header. Found it quite strange, but the attendant was quite well-mannered and showed me that rule was on display at the ground, as well as on the website.

Seems a completely ridiculous rule considering most people's mobiles have zoom capabilities these days and can take reasonable quality photos.
What is this world coming to?

I took my camera in today.. Smuggled in my Parra scarf. One of the season ticket holders that sits in front of me was pulled up for it last year. She argued them down and got to bring it in tho. Both myself and PG sat next to each other with our cameras today looking like the paparrazzi!!! lol.

Just further on today.

I was keen to look further into this subject today.
I was told when I bought tickets at the eastern ticket sales office at 12.45 that I couldn't get two seats together in the Cronin Stand. That was the first crock of sh*t today as there were plenty of seats available upon later inspection. In fact, rows of them.
Secondly, and this is my fault due to my own ignorance, but I couldn't get my 15% discount on tickets for being a member, because the discount doesn't apply to purchases on match day. I wonder how many other people know or don't know that?

Thirdly, the bar service was unsurprisingly atrocious. 3 people in a confined space serving one person at a time. It was Laural and Hardy stuff.

This leads me onto the ticket checking procedures.
I was in the eastern concourse, and I was freely able to walk into the Cronin Stand catering areas. I was able to walk into the O'Reilly bar (I think it's called) and buy beers, while I looked at the unsuspecting people in the eastern concourse (where I was actually sitting) and the shockingly long queue to get a beer. I bought my beers quickly, and headed back past those people to my seat.
What's going to happen to the bar in the Cronin stand when people in the eastern concourse realise they can walk into the O'Reilly bar and buy their beers?
And why should people who pay a premium to sit in the Cronin Stand have to put up with further delays in catering in their own area because it has been opened up to more areas.

The stadium is suffering from menopause, and it is high time that they realised that a little expenditure will ease many problems.
