Among other things in an email from the club:

There has been a change in the procedures for displaying your Membership Card for 2010. It is now required that Members present their Membership Card when reentering their seating area. Parramatta Eels recommends hole-punching your Membership Card and displaying it with your 2010 Member lanyard. This is to ensure that the only legitimate patrons enter each area.

And by the way, thanks for letting us know before Round 1....... maybe lots of people complained this week and they remembered they hadn't actually told us.

If only other ushers were then at the top of the stairs to actually direct people to there seats.

I can see the benefits of directing those from Bay 28 down to walk around to the other set of stairs or from bay 23 up to the first set of stairs but enforcing it with double ticket checks is a bit rich and has the potential to cause blockages in the main thoroughfares

It doesn't make sense does it??????
The woman checked us at the bottom of the stairs, but once I am at the top I could sit wherever the f*ck I like.

This is close on the dumbest and moronic move I have seen the *new board make (*if it is the board decision that is)

Either way who ever made the decision, the club must have know about it and known about it from a long way out because even in the September advertising of the Memberships the Lanyard is mentioned.

Yet we have to wait till a few days before game two to find out why.

When the packs came in to the BGA store, it was pointed out to me that no card holders were added to the packs and the cards didn't come with holes.

going by last week they have taken this into consideration and have slowed beverage sales to one every 5 mins to allow for tickets to be checked on the way back to your seat. They can not sell the next beer until the previous customer is in their seat. :sarcasm:

Same goes for their food service bae, "we'll put a basket of hot chips down for every 5 people that sit in their seats" seems to be the theory

That's right Steve, relocated to the bottom, and checking every ticket, every time (including toilet, food, bar) someone goes up the stairs.

And yet there is no-one at the top of the stairs to guide people to their correct seats, or ensure people are sitting in their correct bays etc..

I really can't see the point of it in the stand areas - once you get in the gate with your ticket, you're a paying customer. These attendants should be at the top of the stairs to assist and settle and seating disputes, rather than at the bottom acting like a second turnstyle...

if it ain't broke, don't fix it. In my opinion as a member, our Board should use all its avenues to get this ridiculous rule changed/fixed - whether it was one of their own doing, or whether it is one that they (by their email) seem to be endorsing.

Oh and Mickdo... you can't post from club emails this year [-X
