Stadium staff and service.....

That's right Steve, relocated to the bottom, and checking every ticket, every time (including toilet, food, bar) someone goes up the stairs.

And yet there is no-one at the top of the stairs to guide people to their correct seats, or ensure people are sitting in their correct bays etc..

I really can't see the point of it in the stand areas - once you get in the gate with your ticket, you're a paying customer. These attendants should be at the top of the stairs to assist and settle and seating disputes, rather than at the bottom acting like a second turnstyle...

if it ain't broke, don't fix it. In my opinion as a member, our Board should use all its avenues to get this ridiculous rule changed/fixed - whether it was one of their own doing, or whether it is one that they (by their email) seem to be endorsing.

Oh and Mickdo... you can't post from club emails this year [-X

I completely agree with you Barty, a mate of mine who sponsors the club sits in the Ray Price lounge and couldn't even go upstairs for a quick a chat with us because he wasn't allowed to and was sent back downstairs...not kidding.

Their main aim here is to stop everyone going to the Northern end to join the swarm. There are only so many seats to stand on there. And the view is to die for.

so the issues about having to show tickets, has anyone made a complaint to the club about it?

In my view, the club is probably more likely to react/do something when a complaint (opinion) can be seen on a public messageboard.

We all know that selected employees and directors read this place, and from past experience we have seen some positive changes occur as a result of comments made here.

I think complaining on here is just as (if not more) effective than complaining to the club?

Thats can be true Bart, though they have to see the complaint first, and I'm not sure any current director has posted here, and as for employees, thats hard to keep track of at the moment :sarcasm:

I asked the question more because there's a few people on here that we know have 'contacts', so am just wondering whether or not anyone has raised it? (and not meaning to be a smart arse to anyone person in asking that  )

For all we know, the answer may be it's a stadium trust directive.

Fair enough. I was referring to employees and directors reading here, rather than posting here. Agree that Ross Smart was a very open manager, who went out of his way to encourage fans to get in touch. Shame there aren't more like him.

I still find it amusing that in the past it was open slather on here and people used to put sh*t on any poster who advised people to talk to their contacts in the club. And now since different people have different contacts in the club, contacting the club is suddenly seen as an effective route to follow? But maybe it's just me that notices that distinction.

In my view past and present directors or employees all need to be treated the same way - you have to keep them honest, and in the past present and future when things need to be improved quick smart, there's no better way to do that imo than a bit of public shaming. And that goes for whether it's a club thing, or a stadium thing that the club has to take action to influence/fix.

there is.

Thats a double barrelled approach.

making the complaint and saying 'you guys are getting smashed online, whats to story?'

In any case, not sitting up in the stand, the issue of showing tickets is neither here no there for me.

The food issue at Parramatta Stadium is nothing new, and I can remember this being raised previously with the former CEO at a forum when Hagan was still coach.

IIRC, I remember reading on here that at a meeting of some sorts (FC or LC AGM?), Luke Coleman from the stadium trust was there and copped a bit of stick over it.

Nothing has changed. Perhaps people need to vote with their wallets, spend cash on food and drinks in the LC and simply boycott the food ad beverages they provide in the stadium.

And when the club are next negotiating the lease, they MUST demand improve quality of both products and service inside the stadium.

do you really think this forum has that much influence? :-s

Some people do.

It got a lot of attention from both sides prior to the LC election.

Funny how that attention, with the exception of the occasional sevens post has pretty much evaporated. :sarcasm:

I think if the people posting here frequently in the lead up to the election suddenly re-emerge prior to the next election and tell us how important we are, we'll all see straight through them

it got a little bit of attention - tbh I don't think anything massive - I'm sure there were other avenues that got as much, probably more

but i reckon to think posting something that ends up hidden on the 5th page of 1 of a few dozen threads about club matters is going to be a sirens and buzzers to someone in the club is a bit dillusional

I don't know... if I was high up in a public thing/club where keeping in touch with peoples'/members' views was important, and there was a place like this where members' views were frequently aired... and if I found a thread titled "Stadium staff and service", I'd definitely be wanting it read it and then monitored it to see what my thing/club could do to keep on top of the game or to improve? Maybe that's just me though.

I'm not sure everyone is there yet Fishy, we still have the occasional unabashed pom-pom wielder among us on here, that haven't seen the electioneering for what it was yet.

I am just going to add something after today's game.

We all spoke about how staff are now asking for tickets, after we go through the gates.

Now at the Cronin Stand I was furious and Im sure other people will agree. The fact that they stop you while approaching the stairs and ask for tickets, and again 3-4 times later when you've got 4 bottles of coke and water in your hands.

Dont they realise that once you go through the gates to say the Cronin Stand, you have definately got a seat in that area, you can get in anywhere else.

What got me fired up was when there a group of 10 year old kids just bought ice cream wasn't allowed to go up cause they didnt have their tickets on them and still wasnt allowed up even when they told them that their parents have got their tickets and sitting in Bay 23. They were upset and worried.

So I was happy Parramatta won, but unfortunately stuff like this can ruin people's afternoon.

the gates to the terraces we're open all afternoon, thats why they are checking tickets, have we had an explanation why thats happening.

Is it a safety issue, or are the food and toilet facilities not cutting in down below

I had no idea, but I used to think that if you have a ticket to the terrace, thats the only gate you can get passed.

I shouldve added the way that woman spoke to this poor kids. Very disappointed.

After the inconvenience last week I had a look around, and the gates between the terrace and the stand are were both open today, all game. There was a sign at one saying "Bar" with an arrow, so one can only assume it is an attempted short cut to avoid bar congestion?

Whatever the reason it's a silly system. Just put more people working behind each bar ffs, problem solved and no need for this silly show your ticket 4 times nonsense! Personally, I'm not patronising the ground catering (including the bar) at all until they fix this... easier and cheaper to bring sandwiches and water in from home.

But for those who do need to buy, I have an idea - civil disobedience... Next time you are irritated at being stopped on your way back to your seat with your hands full, and the attendant asks for your ticket yet again, simply get them to hold all of your beers, food etc while you reach into your wallet to retrieve your ticket. While you are doing this at least 10 people should be able to go up the steps with the attendant being powerless to stop them.

Maybe only then when the attendants report to their bosses how useless and annoying this policy is in practice, will they think about going back to how it was last year, with internal gates closed and no inconvenience to long term members.

I reckon you'll convince more people to buy drinks for that reason, even if they dont intend on drinking.

That's what I did today, I made her hold 2 beers and a pie while I searched for my ticket.
I also noticed that security also stopped a person bringing a camera in during there bag searches. Have cameras always been banned?
