Yeah it looks like she's in it.

Nothing against the actress whom the neckbeards decided to harass off social media, but the character was so poorly written.
I f**ken lol everytime i hear the term "neckbeard"

I sometimes work with a guy that has more than a passing resemblance to Harry Knowles, I have to look away everytime he's on site.

*apologies to any LU posters with neckbeards

Rose just reminds me of what an absolute waste Finn was as a character with that horrible side plot ex machina of no consequence.

Finn was an Empire/Stormtrooper deserter who got his back sliced with a lightsaber by the main villain (when confronting Finn/Rey at the end of TFA, Kylo yells "traitor!" at Finn as his first reaction).

There was so much potential there to take Finn in a really interesting direction. Instead he gets magically healed, doesn't even treat Kylo as an afterthought, pines for Rey, and then goes on the horrible side plot ex machina of no consequence.

Even if everything else had been perfect I would have still been annoyed at what a wasted opportunity that was.

Or how there is now gravity in space for bombs to drop and laser beams to go in parabolic arcs.

Or how there is now resistance in space because ships that run out of petrol just stop.

Or how there's forty minutes spare in our space-chase movie for a heavy handed lecture on the military industrial complex.

Or how since we've cast Laura Dern we'll kill Ackbar off-screen so she can be front and centre.

Or how Holdo will keep her plan secret from Poe for no reason despite the fact he's now one of the few senior officers left in the resistance military.

Well you have to go back to the first movie. I mean when was sound ever able to be heard in a vacuum? Yet we haer the "roar" off every ship's engines that passes the cameras.

As to Holdo, in a military unit, which they were, Vice-Admiral Holdo far out ranked Lt Poe Dameron (remember, Leia demoted him after the attack on the dreadnaught). From a purely military perspective as such, a flag rank officers would not be expected to justify their orders to a junior officer.

Every main character is like that. There's so much potential in all of them, even Rey (who gets a lot of Mary Sue accusations thrown her way) as an "innocent" but incredibly talented and powerful force sensitive who has no real knowledge of or allegiance to the Jedi or the Sith. I feel like they've gone for an angle where the Jedi vs Sith dichotomy is dismantled and Rey is the tool to do it, but they've just f**ked it.

Poe is very much a Wedge Antilles/Han Solo combination to me and that could be really interesting; a guy with Wedge's skillset, his devotion and nobility and Han's recklessness, distaste for authority and impatience.

Finn could be such a kind of anti-hero character. Technically a good guy, but with a lifetime of Empire brainwashing driven by a need for vengeance against Ren and the reborn Empire. Instead he's basically a bit of a sook who seems to only be doing any of this because he wants to escape the friendzone....

They've f**ked every single main character to the point that none of them seem important to the story beyond the fact that they are the most familiar faces in the movies.

Poe was never meant to survive the opening of TFA. It's clear they've just Wedged him in there(see what I did there) ever since.

Rey is just an SJW tirade gone wrong. They were so obsessed with making her a strong character they forgot to do anything to make her interesting.

I actually would've like to seen Finn as a Clone. Think about what his character was in TFA and how he became to think for himself and be aware on the consequences etc, then to have a plot throughout the trilogy of him figuring out where he came from and if other First Order troopers could also be freed like he himself was freed. Could of been a cool plot and character ark.

I think the most interesting thing they could’ve done with the Rey/Kylo dynamic is get them to switch sides of the force. Have Rey go to the dark side and Kylo go to the light. Too late for that now, should’ve done it in 8.
