Amazing crowd ... I thought they'd be lucky to get half that. My experience when visiting Tasmania has always suggested zero interest in rugby league (in Launceston anyway which is where all the Tasmanians I know come from).

Well done to the organisers and to all the people who turned up for the game.
Sold 5000 tickets pre-game and half an hour out they just poured in. I could not believe it.

EL B ..Mate if you get any good feedback(personal or media)from neutrals or AFL fans that attended ,please post it here..
I know the long suffering RL fans down there would have loved it ,but im interested to hear what others thought.

Thats a fantastic turn out. Tasmania deserves their own football team. They have been shat on for too long. A traditional Aussie Rules state that has been neglected by the AFL in favour of 2nd teams in non traditional states. Well done to the organisers of this event and hopefuly we can give them more League games. How do you think a Warriors V Storm regular season game would rate in Hobart?

Warriors v Storm would be bigger. Lots of Kiwis down here.

Whatever this 11,752 crowd says about RL in Tasmania, it certainly should be telling AFL Tas loud and clear where to play top southern-linked games in the TSL.

What a great day. What a fantastic effort by the North Hobart Football Club!!!!

As a league fan it was great to see a game live. Hopefully the turnout sends a message to WIN television to broadcast games at a reasonable time or surrender the rights to someone who will. With 3 channels they have no excuse to not show the games at the same time slot as in NSW and QLD.

mate you guys have to push them hard, especially a traditionally low drawing away opponent for the storm, I think we are the perfect team honestly. I think there would be enough people in Tassie who would want to see Thurston and Bowen, I think their skills are admired amongst all the different code followers.

Fantastic effort El for all involved. The crowd that turned up left me gobsmacked.Thought 6-7,000 at best would turn up.
Think a Storm v Sharks(my team) would perhaps be ideal for a NRL match there.Storm home game of course.

I can imagine it would be a lower profile team for a roster game. We basically have the Broncos trial match wrapped every two years from here.

If the NRL can get this type of turn out for a practice game imagine the turnout for an AFL game in the south. The crowd and atmosphere yesterday was better than that flee pit up north could ever hope for. It just shows put the game where the majority of population resides and you will get bigger crowds. Oh Demetriou if your reading this I will be getting an Optus sim card so don't tell me what I can or cannot do. PS how does a money making machine like the AFL make loss? only you could do it.

This proves that people will turn up to watch 1st. class players in action, but wont bother to watch 3rd class T.S.L.football.

One Tassie guy posted on Storm twitter that the game was great, Slaters a freak, he took his son who only plays AFL & he now has to buy him some Storm gear. The experience he said just might have turned him (the Dad that is).
So a regular presence could turn a few, or at least get them to support the game alongside any other affiliation they have.
