Phelps: 23 gold medals (and I think 28 medals overall). Easily the best Olympian of all time.

I wonder if they are getting enough sleep, eating right, staying off the booze, etc. They are not there to party.
I think lack of sleep has been a factor.
But the other top swimmers had no issues.

Swimming medal tally:

G S B
US 16 8 9
Aus 3 4 3
Hun 3 2 2
Jap 2 3 3

Few countries dominate a major sport in the Olympics like USA in the swimming.

Rooney saying what we are thinking.
At least this must be rock bottom they'll HAVE to address the pressure issues.

I'm starting to get a bit sus on them lol probably for nothing but they're everywhere and their finish is PERFECT.

the yanks just have the killer instinct which means they are great under pressure. many of our athletes seem happy with silver or bronze (which is a great achievement) but it's compared to yanks who are disappointed if they are not number 1

They aren't though, their reactions to silver and bronze make us Aussies look like brats.

I'm not saying he isn't but that statistic can be misleading.
Plenty of sports your very limited in medal totals whereas swimming there's loads of opportunities.
Sir Steve Redgrave won gold in 5 consecutive olympics which is also a great achievement.
