If he's worried training is hurting his rehabilitation from injury... then what's he doing playing full games of league in charity matches?
Yeah, I know...

I was just thinking that doing weights training and contact training etc is a lot different to a charity game (essentially touch) with kids on either side? In terms of what it takes from the body at a certain point in "recovery".

I'm not willing to hang Tahu, I don't reckon he's done too much wrong - asked permission (and been granted it) all the way, players are reportedly supportive. It's not a big deal imo.

TBH comparing the Tahu situation to Grothe is a little irrelevant. Tahu is on way more than him and Eric's contract is now incentive based from what I've heard.
Fair enough re Grothe's contract - that's probably a fair value tbh.

And if Tahu has a 2011 contract - the coach isn't even sure if he does - then it would b e fair enough if it was just incentives too. But the cap auditor wouldn't allow it, as Tahu is a current SOO player and would need to be paid at a certain level...

Grothe always seemed not too fussed about performing rep duty and so misses out the (contract) benefits it brings.

FMD - where did you pull that from Barty? - return to work plan? - talk about making excuses!!!

where has it been mentioned that he is currently injured? .... he's played league in an indigenous round robin event, trained with the kangaroos train on squad, trained with parra up until last week and now a touch footy charity event .... injured? wtf?
I'm just making stuff up (as usual) ;-).

I didn't mean to say he is currently injured, just that his public complaint with Ando was that he was made to play when injured (instead of "recovering").

It was said in jest Suity, glad you got that joke ;-).

Like Fish, I think Tahu's been on the end of a hard time. I'm just looking at the other side.

Looks like there is a chance another Eels junior could come back to bite us in the ass.

BULLDOGS insiders have been privately doing cartwheels about arch-rivals Parramatta letting them sign rookie centre Jonathan Wright on a deal worth $80,000 a season.

The youngster has been blitzing it in the pre-season, while a couple of suburbs away at Parramatta Timana Tahu has been nothing but high maintenance

I don't if it's been mentioned here yet, but if tahu does infact have a contract, and is requesting some leave, I don't think there's much management can do in terms of giving him the flick. Surely he would then have a case of unfair dismissal, as his problems have arisen while playing the game, and would be claiming his leave is based on compassinate grounds due to the pressure and stress on the racial vilification matters this year.

If he requests leave, and it's denied, yet he still doesn't turn up to training then the club have every right to terminate his contract as he's breached the terms.

I'm not sure that simply breaching a single term of a contract is always grounds to terminate it, but it would certainly be a starting point to that process
