I would be stoked to get him for the dogs game.

Dugan will be a big loss but there were signs last game that our halves are starting to gel and I think Flo and Mann can cover duges. KFFL needs to keep playing like he did v the cows every week.

Some extra starch in the pack will help the cause and I think Simms needs to and will up his game at the saints.

Could be just the tonic for the back half of the season.

Also I reckon Host is marked to replace Creagh next season and depending on bens recovery he may get some more bench time this year, hopefully he gets to play as well!

Too bloody right I am cranky.

In Host we have a young man who has done everything that has been asked of him culminating in Jnr Kangaroo selection.

He has devoted his young career to playing in the Big Red V

Twice he has been selected to make his first grade debut and twice he has been denied.

Now we pick up Simms a classic "failed to reach his potential footballer" who has already had to quit 1 club for family reasons.

Gone to the Knights with a whole lot of trumpets blaring as to what he was going to do and to date he has barely pushed a fart in anger for the club "he wanted to be part of"

All the Nathan Brown fans on this forum saying what a good judge of a footballer he is, yet he fails to secure Simms for the next season let alone the rest of this one by the look of it so is Browny smarter or dumber than our lot?

Someone posted about "the hit" Simms put on Hodges for God's sake it was 2 years ago how many hits has Simms done since then? I suggest 2 that got him 2 x 5 week suspensions.

We sign more pie eaters than any other club and some of the fans on this forum forget about what they talked about 5 minutes ago re looking after and blooding the juniors.

They instantly get on the band waggon of how good the pie eater will be for the club and forget about the cost to the developing junior.

The last real pie eater that was any good was big Artie but we keep signing them and to top it off we give em party pies.

All the Tyronne McCarthy for 1st grade fans put your hands back up, because he was going to be the one remember but somehow he never got past sausage rolls.

Absolutely spot on OT.

Everyone wanted Brown as coach because he's a good judge of football talent. So now we pick up a bloke he obviously doesn't rate.

It's the constant "the bloke we don't have is better than the one we do" rubbish. A few games into his Dragons career, the odd suspension or bad game, and it'll be "Sims is hopeless", "why did we waste money on this guy?".

We've got an excellent young prospect in Host who's being treated poorly because the coach hasn't got the balls to give him a go. At the current rate, all the young blokes Brown's blooded at Newcastle this year will form the nucleus of a very good team in a few years while we'll still be in exactly the same position.

Sims' signing shouldn't impact on the younger forwards. More likely he's replacing Creagh, maybe Thompson. I get the sentiment but I don't think he's holding back anyone just yet.

Host is still only 19 and he is playing NSW Cup while eligible for the U20s. He is still signed next year so there's time for him. I think it's too early to make conclusions over his development at this stage. Sele is another young forward playing NSW Cup while being eligible for the 20s. He just re-signed for two years recently so he seems to see a pathway. He will most likely see some game time at some stage as well. I think it's too early to make conclusions over his development too.

Should say I'm pretty pessimistic about the direction the club is going in general and of Sims. Will have to see next year re: Host and also Sele

The majority were ecstatic to sign Mann and Lafai at the expense of Aitken, who was to bide his time with the Cutters

Been confirmed by the Dragons now that its a 3 year deal starting from next year, however Matty Johns is reporting that he'll be in the Dragons camp within the end of the week.

It's official. Not sure how I feel, pretty sure he'll go well at first, I just hope he can be consistent over a longer period. Either way, we've signed worse in recent years.

That's all that we can confirm at this stage. It doesn't rule out the possibility of being released early, considering it's the Knights that would have to release him.

He has the makings of a good signing. Standing 193cm (6ft 4) tall at 105kg he has the size and we know he once had the aggression and game. I reckon he will have a point to prove and you will see the best of Tariq.

Same height and 3 kgs heavier than Mark Gasnier was when he played.

Hardly a giant amongst the power forwards of today.

Excellent signing. Will add some mongrel to our pack complimenting Packer and Frizzel. Now we need to add a smart and crafty Hooker that has the ability to guide the team around the paddock and is able to pass the ball.
