And next year it will take more than three years.
And then it'll be four years.
And then it'll be four years.
So they can't grow the game while shit is happening.
Therefore they can't grow the game.
They have f**ked with rules that didn't need touching because they are reactionary and out of touch. Meanwhile other issues that do need sorting are left to fester.
You said the game is not growing, you have the latest participation numbers?
You know what the story is with expansion?
Good then fill us in.
BTW the latest press release by the NRL ,spells out a new board for Newcastle involving Quayle

I can understand you being frustrated but I can appreciate the size of the mess left behind by the dysfunctional ARL/News partnership and that getting the right governance structures in place upon which everything else will feed off is a priority in the short term. You can be critical based on higher expectations, but Smith has still done more in two years than Gallop did in ten.
When you have to compare to gallop to make someone look good you're struggling.
The reality is this administration is almost identical to the old one. Just as reactionary, out of touch and conflicted as ever.
No I don't have the figures. Where are they published? They used to be in the ARL development annual report.
Maybe its too hard to print this when there are dysfunctional clubs and asada investigations.
End of year annual report, when it is announced.
Collation of annual reports is all done in the twinkle of an eye.
Yes it is about context. The old admin had less money and less resources and was constrained by news.
This one has more cash more resources and is supposedly Inependent.
Yet they are just as reactionary, out of touch and conflicted. So when you put it in context it looks pretty poor.
Maybe they're still adding in all the fake touch figures to the real ones. In between salary cap investigations and club ownership issues.
Context, but only the parts that are convenient to your prejudice. You can't accept the game was run terribly, as a lack of resources or otherwise, and at the same time not appreciate the size of the task confronting Smith to fix it and modernise the games governance.
Or maybe they are spending time reading rl fans' posts who spend an inordinate amount of time ,bitching about them.
You know the ones who boo Santa Claus.
Why don't we bring back Gallop,or Moffett that'll solve the problems.
Nah. They're not reading or listening to fans at all. That's why they're so out of touch.
And as I've said, those who have to compare this lot to the likes of gallop are struggling big style. Gallop was a news lackey at a time when newa owned the game. What's the excuse now? Oh yeah two years isn't long enough. Just as three won't be. And four.
I used to be on NRL nation.
When I filled in my survey this year I never got an invite.
Perhaps it was because I said I had not renewed my club membership.
In any case they weren't interested in why. They weren't interested in anything I had to say obviously despite being a lifelong supporter of the game at all levels. Not that I was surprised. As I was filling it in I thought I won't get invited back this year.
They don't want to hear criticism. They don't want to hear opposition. They want reinforcement of their decisions. Its the same ego maniac culture that led to the gallen punishment.
So no they don't listen. Not if its not what they want to hear.
Who are you calling old? I'm probably younger than you.
There's no evidence they listen to the fans anyway. Its lip service like everything else. There is little value in it except as a charade to give the impression they listen. They don't post results of surveys let alone act on them so there's no quantifiable outcome for the fans.

Of course these things gathering high profile people to sit on an NRL club board, just happen with the click of a finger. No checking on their interest,no checking on their credentials,no checking on their vision for the game.It all just happens.
