As real as those 40k players over in western Australia
Yeh the newspapers totally made up the stories over the last few years naming interested parties, and the most recent one last year about the consortium putting a bid together. Clearly just fiction, or maybe you need to follow the news a bit closer?

full registered contact players 4100
Touch participation players 30,100
rugby league participation including schools teams 5,000

Paul Kent was king of unnamed sources & business ppl. Only an idiot would blindly accept that crap as true

What a snake editing post after I replied. Numbers don't work like that & there's probably huge overlap between all 3 categories. Only non rubbery number are 4k registered players.

Touch Football Annual Report cites 30,168 participants in WA - 19,446 in school programs, but only 589 fully affiliated members.

With WA borders closed for much of the year, the impacts of Covid-19 were not as severe as the rest of the county which saw TFWA delivered school programs flourish across the state. TFWA staff conducted face-to-face clinics and sessions engaging with 19,446 students across various programs which was an outstanding achievement

The 2021 LiveLighter Super League Series, held over eight (8) rounds plus finals, saw 17 teams compete in the open divisions.

The 2021 Junior State Championships presented by GO for 2&5 were a fantastic success achieving further participation growth. The 2021 event saw 70 teams participate from U8s to U17s divisions - up from 62 teams the previous year

Adelaide will be team 18 or 19. The next two expansion states are the WA and SA markets. The 20th team will either be New Zealand 2, Cairns/Pasifka (QLD5 basically) or Victoria 2 (Melbourne Bears?)

You know they stated the next franchise would probably be the setup in Cairns in 2025, yeah?

The Rams were officially put out of their misery in December. John Ribot has sinced revealed that of Adelaide, Perth and the Mariners, the Rams had come closest to profitability.

“The one which was closest to making a dollar was Adelaide”, he said. “We had a very parachoial one-team city. It was sad to see them go."
