It’s when they get the ball that matters. After a quick play-the-ball you want to give it to your best attacking players. At Parra that was never Reed Mahoney, so any time he ran the ball was essentially a hit up, and we have better players for that as well.

I've looked at his stats. He is running for about 45mtrs a game now. But it is taking him 8-9 runs to get that. 5mtrs a run is not great. It's dreadful. And when consider 1 or 2 of those runs where probably 10-12mtrs some of the others are probably 3mtrs

One of the best sledges i've heard at a game was someone yelling at Ben Cutting after he'd just been smashed all around the park in one of his early big bash games was "Get a trade Cutting"

I'd advise Momo to do the same.
He did he met Erin Holland and won lotto.

But Mahoney believes the major difference between his new job and his last has been his extra workload in attack.

The Queenslander has booted a league-high three 40/20 kicks so far and made 34 dummy-half runs, just under half the number he managed across 28 games last year (70).

"At Parra, there are lot of boys that are very dominating football players," Mahoney explained.

"They have their own right to do that and that's fine, they're ball-runners of the team.

"I've obviously got a bit more freedom to take the line on here (at the Bulldogs).

"I'm still balancing things of when to run and when not to run, balancing having to make a few tackles a game.

"It's something I'm still building and still getting right."

Interesting quotes from Reed about the difference in his attacking game to when he was at parra.
Sounds more like he’s saying “do you think I’m going to pass it to Kyle f**ken Flanagan or Hayze f**ken Perham?!?”
Basically Reed thinks his new teammates are garbage and wishes he had his old teammates.

Unfortunately this year all our signings have been poor bar Hopgood.

Moimesea is 18th man in NSW CUP, Asi looks at home there, Murchie is NSW CUP level.
Doorey has show ability but not enough to force Bryce out and also in NSW CUP. While Hodgson is playing at NSW CUP level.

Only Hopgood has made the top 17 and deserves to be there. I had high hopes that a few signings would shine. Unfortunately its been very dissapointing so far.

I am not writing murchie off yet.

I said previously his strengths aren't being utilised he isn't a middle. He is a edge back rower that runs a great line outside the half.

Matt Doorey is 22. He’s doing fine.

Doorey the poor bloke is a bad luck charm.

Bloke is at 13% winning record in first garde after 23 games no wonder BA has given him the flick.

I think all except the pub footballer could be that player 17 on the bench, but we could do with some quality reinforcements that's for sure.

Sure. But there was a part of me that hoped Murchie/Doorey/Moimesea was another Papali'i and that Hodgson would kill it. Bryce is keeping them all out. He couldn't even get a bench spot last season.

I'd dare say BA thought the same. I doubt he felt Grieg,Bryce and Makatoa where going to hold his new signings out. And that HANDS would be required on the bench.
I'd say his rnd 1 sides backs up a lot of this. I reckon LANE and Mattersons injury are only reason Bryce was even considered due to his experience. Had they been there I think we run with the new guys on bench.

To this point it's been real poor recruiting. That may change as season progresses

What was the issue last year

Was Bryce not fit enough or attitude was shit.

It's contract negotiation time for Bryce so is he having more of a crack.

Jake got the jump on him for the ultilty spot and most people thought Bryce's versatility should have been ahead of Jake on the bench.

Bryce probably played himself out of the GF team with the 15 min stint in Townsville he had when Lane went off for a HIA with some dumb errors.
