NIGHTINGALE & POORE MAKE NRL RETURN FOR EELS CLASH

Tuesday, April 07, 2009
Local junior’s Jason Nightingale and Justin Poore will this week make their return from injury when the Dragons take on the Eels at Parramatta Stadium this Friday night.
Nightingale (hamstring) was a late withdrawal from the round three match against the Sharks and has been named on an extended bench whilst Poore returns from a broken hand suffered in the opening clash of 2009 against the Storm.
“I’ve put in the hard work the last few weeks and it wasn’t as bad as first thought so I’m back a week or so early which is good,” said Nightingale. “I’ve been named on the bench so I’m not entirely sure what my role will be at this stage especially with the side having a lot of momentum.”
The two come into the side at the expense of Trent Merrin and Nick Emmett who will return to the Dragons feeder side Shellharbour.
Unavailable Dragons are: Ricky Thorby – Back (Rnd 6), Matt Cooper – Hamstring (Rnd 7)

I expect Nightingale to go to fullback with Boyd going into the centres. Costigan to the Bench, Poore to start leaving a bench of Saffy, Costigan, Priddis and Hunt

I think Florence will start on the wing, Morris to centre, Costigan to the bench, and Hunt to have a double hand-transplant (with someone who can hang on to the ball).

I think Saffy has done enough to start the game. Poore should have to play well off the bench and earn his starting spot. Just my opinion though.

Poore will have to start of the bench... hell Bennett did that with Webke in the past...

What does everybody think about Nightingale in the centres maybe?

hard choice.....boyds played really well at fullback but costigans not a centre. Maybe creagh to centre? costigan second row or bench. Who knows. Come back cooper!

One things for certain, Darius should not be moved from fullback, he is too good for us back there.

Bennett being Bennett... apart from confirming the bench will no doubt move things around come run on.
Id'e expect to see the same starting side as the Broncos.
Apart from that, Id'e be surprised to see Costigan play at any stage at centre.
Obviously one of Head or Nightingale to be dropped from the extended bench pending on the news with Boyd.

If Boyd is out, Ide expect Head to start with Hornby at Fullback... but in Bennett we trust!

I hope & assume Costigan isn't going actually play centre. His read against the Broncos last week was terrible.

Very unlikely Florence will play fullback.. he didn't trial there at all, and is returning from injury.

I'm really liking the look of the team.

But I cant help thinking that theres an upset on the cards.
Thats the problem with being on top - everyone wants to knock you off!

Hodges got around Costigan a couple of times last week.

Hopefully he lines up against Ben Smith and not Krisnan Inu.

Good to see Nightingale back this week. I've been against moving Boyd from fullback all season but to keep Morris in the team for the time being he should play centres to make way, Nightingale to slot on the wing and Costigan to the bench.

I also think that Head is not playing at least a half of footy he might as well go back to NSW Cup. We need him to keep up his match fitness and confidence so he will be ready when we well and truly need him.

Cant really see nightingale playing in the centres. Dont think he has much of a passing game and his running style is suited for kick returns. Aswell hes safe under the high ball so he needs to be wing or fullback. Why dont we give Emmett a run
